    Lexus LX450 / FZJ80 replacing airbags

I have the same problem. From what I could tell just looking at it, it looks like it comes right out the front of the slot and goes right back in. But I haven't pulled my old one yet....

Vibration after front knuckle rebuild 96 lx450

Ok we got home and I pulled the wheels off, threw the fish scale as far as I could, and re seated the bearings as per the instructions, 20lbs on the first nut against the bearing washer, and 45 I the second nut. Wheels are a little harder to rotate but not much. The vibration pattern changed a...

Vibration after front knuckle rebuild 96 lx450

Mudgudgeon, you mean the wheel seating onto the hub? It's possible the shop that rotated them left one of them slightly off I guess, I'll check that. And if I can find a hub stickers socket here I'll retorque the wheel.I'm hoping that's it

Vibration after front knuckle rebuild 96 lx450

Do the birfs need to be indexed a certain way on the axle? Or do the axles and birfs need to be inserted a specific way other than flat spots on the birfs up and down?

Vibration after front knuckle rebuild 96 lx450

They are probably a little above that, the values on the scale for the preload are on the high end of the recommended range

Vibration after front knuckle rebuild 96 lx450

I just finished the knuckle rebuild on my 80 at 254k miles. I also replace the the rod ends. I've got a pretty bad vibration in the truck.felt mostly through your butt, a little in the wheel and moist noticeable by touching the transfer case lever. I am not sure what to check and no idea...

are there 2 Vacuum switching valves on an 80 / LXX450? P0401 problem

I wish I would have just done this lol. I don't understand the system well enough to know how to jumper the harness in the right place to clear the CEL. I would have caused a no start or a fire or something dumb. I tested the other VSV, it was fine. I wish I would have used the Dorman...

are there 2 Vacuum switching valves on an 80 / LXX450? P0401 problem

<-- That's what she said  based on a generic VSV test I found, I put pressure on the middle port, and air comes out the bottom port, then I applied 12V and it clicks and air then vents out the little round vent thing at the top. so I think it's working as designed. I'm going to...

are there 2 Vacuum switching valves on an 80 / LXX450? P0401 problem

I'm in the middle of trying to fix an ongoing P0401 on my 1996 LX450. before I go on, I would like to humbly request that if anyone knows someone who work at Toyota who helped design and locate the EGR pieces on the LX450, please, hit them in the face with a shovel for me. I've only seen...

LX450 EXTREMELY hard start or no start when cold or wet.

TL/DR: It started right up after new fusible link and new spark wires. OK GREAT Update: I finally got to the Lexus dealer and got a fusible link (funny story, 10 bucks at toyota, 15 at lexus, same part number. Lexus had it but Toyota needed to order it) The other day I replace the cap and...

LX450 EXTREMELY hard start or no start when cold or wet.

I'm in Provo Utah, about an hour south of Salt Lake. Oh THANK YOU for that doc NLXTACY, that is going to be super useful. I have never checked the ignition parts before. I wasn't sure where to start. I'll run this table tomorrow and see what we get. Thanks man, I really appreciate that.

LX450 EXTREMELY hard start or no start when cold or wet.

Oh please please please be right. There are three fusible links, I think I read in the emergency troubleshooting section that it's the third one... I'll probably replace all three just cause I'm tired of messing with this thing in the freezing cold snow. :grinpimp:
