You may have broken a belt in the tire or thrown wheel weights or maybe dented a rim when you hit the pothole. That will throw the tire way out of balance and cause or exacerbate a deathwobble feeling in the front end for sure. Good luck!
I'm thinking about it. I'm doing a lot more dirtbike riding these days than wheeling so it may be going to a happy, new owner.
What part of the EB are you in? I'm sure I must have seen you around at some point. I'm in San Leandro, there are a few clean ones around here and at least one of...
For whatever reason, both smog shops used a two speed speed without the dyno. I believe it's because most of the cruisers they've seen are 80s with full time 4wd so they assume 60s are as well. They only test for nox under load.
I'm not a fan of changing jets to get the emissions down unless they've been changed at some point. The factory jetting is more than sufficient to pass smog if the other systems are intact. I'll find and post my final numbers when I get back home but they were very, very low and the only...
To be clear, I was only able to get the afr at idle to 14.7 using the idle mixture screw. At 2500rpm under no load it was more like 13.2 to 13.5. Another thing I learned is that you have to disable the ai at the rail or the gauge will just give you a lean reading that's of the charts due to...
Slow Left: Sure! It's an AEM 30-4100 UEGO controller gauge. It uses a calibrated Wideband Bosch O2 sensor and is totally standalone. I built a little housing for it out of an outdoor electrical outlet enclosure so I can move it and the harness around safely as I use it on other vehicles. I got...
Well, I'm sorry I took so long getting back to those who offered up ideas but I finally got it smogged!
The project got left by the wayside for a few months but I started chipping away at little things (and there were a few!) as I found them.
-Fixed the exhaust leak
-Fixed the AI rail...
I have a set of Toyota factory Tie rod ends for a 2003 Tacoma 4x4 that I'm sure may fit many other years but that's for you to determine. They were destined for a buddy's taco but he ended up selling it before I did the work. $100 plus shipping. Thanks!
Well, i found a huge exhaust leak from a cracked out weld on the manifold to primary pipe flange so I pulled that and fixed it over the weekend. I'm still trying to get the AI check valve off the rail so i can replace that and I need to find the vsvs for the abv and the asv as mine are both...
As far as the two speed idle test goes, I believe that's just the ignorance of techs at the smog shop but I wasn't going to argue with them.
I checked the smog history and yeah, it ain't pretty and definitely points to shenanigans IMO.
