I have the square arms and I don't understand how the round are stronger. round may flex better but in the same way that you would stand a 2X4 in construction, I think the square may have a strength advantage, that is assuming they were same grade and thickness wall tubing. either way an upgrade...
I got the same info from a rep out this way. Total BS. If that's the case then why are they redesigning the fenders AGAIN?! also ya dont see any other OFFROAD vehicles on the market falling apart structurally.
TIRES TIRES TIRES. I was averaging 13.5 with 33x12.5r17 baja claws. I bought a second set of steelies with the stock optional BFG rough terrains and I now average 17. Plus I only wear down my mean lugs when I put em on to hit a trail.
I doubt the gearing would do much at all. and for the price...
yup just going back and forth in a straight line won't do it sometimes, you need to swerve a bit to get the rear wheels turning at a different speeds to get them aligned properly for it to lock.
there is a definite advantage to big tires, especially with ifs, but anythin over 33-35 with the stock drivetrain setup you are asking for repair bills, Personally I would love to run 37's but thats down the line after swapping gears, solid front and 6 inch lift. probably I will wait till...
I'm runnin 33/12.50 r17 Ive had no issues with them, They make r16's too. I wouldn't go much bigger than that unless you chop the body mount or lift higher.
did ya see this one?
http://www.roughcountry.com/toyota_fj-cruiser-6.html I think it looks kick ass, just make sure you get the upgraded setup if you can afford it. too pricey for me though.
I freakin love mine, this little pig hung right in there some wicked rides on some of the hardest trails out here. Lets see,
FJ, scratches on the frame and a dented track bar swivel mount
Mean jeep cherokee, broken driveshaft
H2, Broken Tierod
Badass classic 70's bronco, Broken U joint
Big a$$...
