Congratulations is in order!
I assume one would need to drop the transmission pan for a simple R&R of the harness?
Now will the fuel trims normalize after you clean the ECU?
Very unique situation you have there.
An interesting correlation with the oil and your fuel trims.
I would defiantly be very interested in the source of that oil.
Could it be a blown/ leaking capacitor in the ECM/ ECU? but your showing too much for a mini capacitor.
Could it be refrigerant...
For what its worth, Rack Doctor is excellent to deal with. I believe the owner is a car enthusiast (BMW)
I would not hesitate to purchase a rebuilt unit from them. They stood behind there rack I bought for my GS after 6 years 100k miles it started leaking, they sent me a replacement right...
You beat me to it CGR: I was just going to say evaporator core...
...I do believe that I'm in the same boat w/ my '07. ...that would be the front
evaporator core, and I swear I can smell compressor oil through the front vents when it first fires up.
From my experience with UZ VVT-i cam seals, they last and may not need replacing until the second or third timing belt change.
If they are not leaking you may consider leaving them be. It's about 4+ hours of labor just for the seals.
By the time cam seals need replacing the VVT timing tubes...
I have never seen a timing belt snap, it's always the teeth get ripped, I've seen it on Honda's and Nissan's first hand, never Toyota until this one...
The vehicle above was bought at auction in this condition, no records of a belt change.
The teeth of the timing belt sheared off at the crank...
There might be slight variations between starters over the years, but they are all rebuildable, and dollars to donuts they are interchangeable.
It is just a matter of sourcing the parts, they are available...
Starter Contacts for 2003-2007
The starters in our UZ motors are very much rebuildable.
Plenty of aftermarket Denso starter rebuild kits available...
Lexus Part numbers:
28226-50080 Motor Terminal contact
28226-50070 Battery Terminal contact
28235-54380 Plunger with new contact ring
I would verify you are getting the proper voltage at the battery when the car is running. Somewhere between 13.4v - 14.7v
I have seen these lights in other Lexus models when system voltage is too low.
Could be as simple as your alternator or even battery going out.
Good luck
It also saves time assembling the intake to the head at the bench and installing it as one unit to the block. It’s a bit heavy to do by yourself though.
