What did you do to your FJ Cruiser today?

Took my son up to Tahoe and stopped off here at Donner Lake overlook by the abandoned train snow- shed tunnels off Interstate 80, east bound. Check out the north-bound plane in the sky, probable heading to Seattle by guess of direction.

Son hit a deer, trying to figure out what is bent

Find a good collision shop locally. They are best suited for this and you can use your insurance if applicable. Body shops are good for body, Wheel and brake shops are good for wheels and brakes and alignments, but collision shops are best for this type of work, thats all they do and try to get...

What did you do to your FJ Cruiser today?

My son took my 2012 TTSE to Truckee ,Ca and went skiing with his buds and took NO PICS ???? Three days in the Sierra's and no pics! Came back, washed it and gassed it up but c'mon, no pics? really? Sheesh, sorry folks nothing to see here. :) Happy holidays everyone.

Also, BMThiker, there were huge fires the season you visited Rubicon and it was difficult to live here because of the smoke. The State does allow logging in El Dorado NF, but if you have seen the acreage and terrain you will know how hard it is to get in. I buy a new Forest Service map every 2...

We always see logging equipment every year but they can't take everything out. What will hurt is the aftermath of the winter heavy snow season; all the creeks will be filled with mud and the trails will suffer massive erosion and be completely different to drive next spring. I will go up after...

Totally unrecognisable terrain here after devastating fires last summer. This is off Mormon Emmigrant Trail east of Sacramento, Ca. yesterday. Last year it was impossible to see the hills for all the trees.

Had to replace my Optima Red Top from 2017.

    Best replacement battery?

I am back. My Optima Red Top lasted 5 years. Interestingly, and probably because its a glass mat battery, this one gave me notice of its demise. Started the car slower each day for a week and so I bought a new one from Amazon. So I got 5 solid years and 40k miles. I was not charged a core by...

    Toyota preview vehicle

Interesting especially since GM are bringing out a Hummer EV. And as an investor I prefer to put money into VW for the future of EV's, just saying.

New brakes all 4 wheels at 90,077miles

Sure you can do that if you have air in your system. I clamped the brake hose shut near each wheel so only had air between the clamp and the caliper, only took 2 shorts pumps of the pedal per wheel to remove .

New brakes all 4 wheels at 90,077miles

Bleed your brakes, requires 2 people. My brake pedal feels solid. When we replaced the pads we pinched closed the line and opened bleeder valve to press pistons back in. When all re-assembled we took the pinch clamp off the line . We bled front brakes after front complete, then did the same at...

    Builds time to start over

Awesome, I went with Walker-Evans racing suspension at all 4 wheels and also noticed a night and day difference over the factory Bilsteins. Enjoy.

You have to have done several brake jobs? I missed my chance to get powder coated red calipers at my most recent service yesterday. My friend Nestor has those and boy do they look good thru his non- TRD wheels. I would add that the calipers are harder to see thru my 16 inch TRD wheels, but just...
