Yeah, the ladies that answer the phone are nice enough but they have zero technical knowledge. Not sure who dropped the ball as far as calling me back with answers, but from what the OP said it would have been bad info anyway. I'll be doing business with Spector Offroad from now on. They're the...
Of the 4 different companies I've used to source parts for my H55 install I've been most disappointed with cruiser corps. Called them a few different times with questions and no one ever called back. Thank God for mud.
Just ran into the same problem with the same kit from the same company. Looks like I had the Aisin bearing in the clutch when I get it, but this new bearing is obviously not the right part. I wonder if the clutch/pressure plate will work correctly once I get the right bearing. @Chad717 you might...
Starting to wonder if I should be using any of the parts supplied by cruiser corps for my clutch. The pilot bearing they sent was not the correct one, and the throw out bearing looks completely different too. Stock is on the left, new bearing on the right. Stock bearing has a rounded surface...
Oh, and just in case anyone is wondering how to get around the 2 SST's listed above:
09308-10010: Make sure you remove the detent ball/spring and hit the shift fork where it meets up with the linkage. A couple taps with a hammer will get the bearing retainer out pretty easily.
09950-20014...
I've got a buddy who works at a shop locally that said he can help me for a six pack. Also found a transmission shop who quoted me $50 for the work, but I'd rather pay in beer. Georg was super helpful, I've got the whole transfer case torn down and plan on starting the cleaning process next...
Hello again everybody.... So I'm stuck again. I'm at the point I need a bearing puller to get the bearing retainer out. Manual calls for SST 09308-10010, the picture looks like a pilot bearing puller, maybe bigger. I also see I'll need another SST 09950-20014, which seems like a different type...
Got em, thanks everybody. Impact wrench with the pressure turned up to 110 did the trick. Had to hit it for about 6-10 seconds before it budged, but I got both off.
I've got an impact but it's one of the compact ones from harbor freight. Don't think it's got enough power to move it. Manual says 550 max torque. I'm betting I need one of the 900+ models. You think the staking I'm seeing over the threads is from where it was staked previously? That would make...
The more I look at the nuts the more I think they were staked into the threads as well as the slots. I hit them with a torch and tried the breaker bar again but still nothing. Is the transfer case toast if I can't get these nuts off without ruining the threads? Really disheartening getting stuck...
So I've started tearing down my transfer case and I'm stuck already. I'm trying to get the companion flanges off, but the stake nuts aren't budging. I'm pretty sure I have them unstaked all the way, but take a look at these pics..... The third one shows it looks like they might have been staked...
Got the bearing out.... I'm getting pretty good at the grease/bread method having done it twice now. Ended up using an everything bagel this morning actually, but worked the same. I cleaned the crank up and can't feel or see any gouges/dents in it. Going to call the dealer today and order the...
