    ABS/Battery Startup Help

Thanks for the input, and yes right now my multimeter says 12.47V so certainly appears low voltage. Can't obviously get a voltage while on right now but in the past the voltage on the dash would read right around the 14V mark so that always seemed correct.

    ABS/Battery Startup Help

Good morning, All. Need some advice on how to diagnose/proceed with the following issue. 2011 Land Cruiser would not start this morning. Doors unlocked electronically like normal, sat down, foot on brake, press start, got about a half second of the normal steering wheel tilt and then everything...

    SPACE Trailer Long Term Review

Great review, thanks for the info. Was wondering about one of these myself. Got some questions! With the love handles, is there some kind of structure on the inside of the trailer that reinforces the attachment? I see them as a place to attach ratchet straps or whatnot, but I was suspicious...

    Rubicon Solar Power Experience

Sure thing! It's been a fun project overall. There are apps but there's also a gov website that you can get tilt and azimuth for any time of the day without all the app ads. NOAA Solar Position Calculator - https://gml.noaa.gov/grad/solcalc/azel.html Then with a compass and inclinometer the...

    Rubicon Solar Power Experience

It's attached, there's a self-tapping screw at each end. I basically followed this example: $11 DIY Portable Solar Panel Stand: 7 Steps (w/ Photos) - Footprint Hero - https://footprinthero.com/diy-solar-panel-mount

    Rubicon Solar Power Experience

This thread was very helpful for me, and I thought I'd share some photos. It all started when I got tired of regular coolers--yes the ice melts but what's almost more frustrating is having to hunt through it all to find that one stick of butter or last can of beer. So I got a National Luna...

    Springbar Tents

Springbars are good tents and good people (customer support). I have the 10x14 hot tent package and it's a really nice setup. It's particularly nice in hot weather, as there are many windows for ventilation. As compared to nylon/polyester, canvas is a lot nicer fabric to spend time during just...

Any tips to remove front diff drain plug?

Yes, it does feel like a "win" ;). Interestingly, I stumbled across this adapter which claims to feature a slightly oversized 10mm hex to fit snugly. Toyota Hilux Prado FJ Cruiser Diff Drain Plug Removal Tool - https://www.kaon.com.au/diff-drain-plug-removal-tool-to-suit-toyota-hilux

Any tips to remove front diff drain plug?

Well it's out. None of my efforts worked, including a lot of heat, chiseling, hammering, Torx bit (probably would be a good technique in general but the socket was already too big). Great mechanic down the road got it out with no welding--I asked how but he kept it a secret heh... Looks like...

Any tips to remove front diff drain plug?

A welded nut does seem like the best when all this torque needs to be overcome. Any idea on safety of the electronics if I used a MIG to tack weld? Would need to ground to the diff housing I think as the closest thing possibly get a bite on. Mostly just open to discussion about it as I think...

Any tips to remove front diff drain plug?

Well, I am having trouble with the drain plug as well. This is the first time I've had to change the diff oil since I became the owner...not the sort of surprise you want. Counting my blessings as so many other things (including rust) are in great shape on this rig. Still, very obnoxious, this...

    Heater hose Tees...

Just to add info for reference (hope we can get as much documented on the 200 series as we have on the 100 series). New to me 2011 has ~125,000 miles and has been very well taken care of by the PO. Couple of dealer-serviced coolant exchanges so presumably all Toyota fluid for reference. I...
