This is considerably more affordable than a solid axle conversion. And I would be able to keep my front locker … i’m kicking myself for rebuilding my entire AHC system though. Wish there was a way to convert one of the hydraulic shocks to a coil over. Just not a big fan of torsion bars.
I have under drive and 4.88s as well as 35s … it not to much, I have the 5 speed 750. Love it. I have lockers etc and great on trails because I also did the 25% reduction t case gears. Highway I am still getting 14 to 15 mpg at 65. Rpms are about 400 higher at most speeds even with 35s but...
My truck is triple locked … once trails get gnarly enough to need front and rear lockers you are going to need lots it other stuff like frame sliders, skid plates, larger tires, bumpers front and rear etc … so you don’t tear the rest of the truck apart. It’s easy to sink thirty grand into these...
Do you think installing the AHC shock extensions in the front could potentially give me an extra 3/4 of an inch droop? I’m thinking about doing some kind of space or something just to get a little bit extra droop. I’m not using a sensor lift. Trying to find something like that, and came across...
I have the 10% underdrive in my tea case as well as the low range reduction gears. I have 4.88 in the front and rear diffs with 35 inch tires. Even with 35 inch tires it’s still a little lower geared than stock. My speedometer is 7% high so is my gas mileage and everything else. So at 2600 RPM...
Yes, here is the update. Regardless of temperature or speed. I cannot hear any audible wine from my transfer case whatsoever. I do have the 3.1 low range gearset as well as the 10% high range reduction set. I do not know if this is because I cryogenically treated all of the internals and did a...
You ever make that chop? I’m going to do mine … and chop the last few inches of the frame then re weld or bolt the cross member further forward. Looking at a custom rear bumper to fit in there nice n tight. Ditching the tow hitch and going for a better departure angle.
Before you take anything apart ... I just want to point out that there is a weight load limit on the AHC to move from N to H or from L to N. You put 720 Lbs or 326Kgs of fuel in the back of the truck and the overall weight capacity of the truck is 1200 lbs total or 544Kgs and that includes the...
Yup, as these guys said - not ideal to lock up the differentials when on high traction surfaces like pavement. The rear diff for example (if equipped) allows each rear wheel to rotate at different speeds. When you make a U-turn, the inside wheels do not rotate as fast as the outside wheels...
Following … I don’t think Landcruiser Phil is still making that kit so I’m going this route. I live in a very hot climate and this truck has never really been able to run cool while idling for very long, even after changing pretty much everything related to the cooling system. If I got front and...
Another good thread about this exactly - 'replacing rear ac lines- 100 series suggestions and observations'

Following along … just found an AC line leak in the same exact spot as everyone else behind the front passenger tire. At first I was hoping it’s an O-ring but I don’t think that’s the case. So depending on where my hole is, I might just splice the line and then before next summer I’ll replace...
