The original engine is a toyota. Today use a GM250S engine and transmission toyota 4 synchronized gears. The bellhousing is GM.

In CKD model, what matters is the cost. The GM engines were well respected and used in trucks.
I think that the engines were not Toyota to lower the cost of production.
