Broken Ignition camshaft repair - steering wheel lock gate stuck

FYI this part is about 3x as much as the ones that will give you issues but works perfectly. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fits-1998-2002-LX-470-or-Land-Cruiser-Ignition-Lock-Cylinder-Barrel-Rod-7853A-/363292362697?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0

    For Sale  2000 LX470 190k in NorCal

Life’s kinda been Murphy’s law lately and I have to get rid of my rig. I should have done this a month or so ago, but I was hoping it wouldn’t come down to it. Then the ignition lock cylinder broke a couple days back so it needs to be towed now. Part is en route and should be here around the...

Broken Ignition camshaft repair - steering wheel lock gate stuck

I’m going to piggy back on this thread as I just had the ignition cylinder break on my 2000 LX470 a couple nights ago. I took it apart and removed what I thought were both broken cylinder pieces but it turns out the tip also broke off alllll the way in the back of the housing. I’m thinking...

What did you break on your 100 this week?

Last night I put the key in the ignition and broke what I found out today to be the lock cylinder bracket. Happy New Years!

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

    Painter needed close to Tahoe/Reno/Sac

I have done a fair amount of paint work, blending and minor dent filling on my 100 series. It’s not super hard, just VERY time consuming to do the prep work. You can order all the factory colors from a handful of platforms. I think they were all 2 stage though, which I would recommend regardless...

Dumb question about valve head stuff

Copy that. Compressed air it is. I’m so glad this forum is available so I can avoid making mistakes trying to fix the problems i created in the first place 😂😂😂

Dumb question about valve head stuff

Gotcha. And also the thing that grommet is behind. It can be removed and set in place again, yes?

Dumb question about valve head stuff

I dropped a bunch of my PCV valve grommet into the blow off chamber a couple weeks back. So the day has come to do the removal of the valve cover and fish that grommet out. Aside from cleaning the valve cover, changing the valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals, is there anything else you...

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

No fluctuations in the rpm on the gauge happen while idling. It is just an uneven vibrating intermittently. While changing PCV and cleaning the throttle body(actually haven't felt it since those were done) I did find one hose from the back of the airbag to the intake manifold starting to split...

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

I have not. How do you do that? By the way the ‘rough’ part of the idle is when at a red light and happens intermittently every 10 or 15 seconds. It’s in between a stutter and a hiccup that happens for about 2 seconds and goes away

What did you break on your 100 this week?

That’s what I’m hoping. But as the thing breaks down and decomposes in there, issues may arise. I’m hoping it magically comes out when I change the oil next time.
