I do feel a little guilty about bringing a clean truck into the salt belt (for winter driving, no less). Hopefully with some prior rust treatment, and during winter carwashes...I'll have a shot at keeping her clean?? :meh:

Thanks, guys. That map generally matches what makes sense in my head. I can imagine salt being used on the roads of ski areas in Utah, Colorado, etc., but not sure.

Tried to buy two local trucks here in Chicago last week (99 LX470; 2000 LC), but both failed the PPI after we got them up on the lift and saw the undercarriage rusted solid. So now I'm thinking fly and drive, or ship. Seems like most people on here would say Southwest or PNW is best, right...
