    100 Chapter of DIYMobileAudio

Sometimes in projects you fail to see the cumulative effects of small decisions until they add up to something. I realized Saturday that my earlier decisions made it so my rear seats won’t fit back in, if I finished the build as is! First, I bought previously owned but unused amps of the...

    100 Chapter of DIYMobileAudio

Took waaaay longer than intended, but got these tweeter pods in. I think I started on these poses with rings @Berkut10r printed for me in like March/ April. Still more system to install. Here’s the rest of the work-in-progresss…

    Door trim clip

Apologies, totally forgot. Car still apart. Will do before bed and add here. ( sorry to make you wait… for nothing. I have too much out and nothing to show you. See pic.).

    100 Chapter of DIYMobileAudio

Say, does anyone need nice firewall grommets? I bought 2... but didn't see it was a 5-count per bag... so now I have 10! Okay, I used 2, so I have 8. For 0/1 gauge, black. They seem nice, tighten down to waterproof seal. Just pay shipping and I'll send them.

    100 Chapter of DIYMobileAudio

That’ the thing with making it quieter, and solving “the g’damn noise”… you will now just hear the next loudest noise… on and on… but the end results are so much better than where you started.

    Rusty lc100-

Reformed Boston driver; I know rust. What is your goal with this car? You’ve been given a lot of good, (but conflicting) advice… but only you know what your preferred path is. That said, why are you so holding onto this rig, if you’re concerned about rust? Just sell it and buy a rust free...

    A pillar waterproofing

You’ve told us the symptom. The above are solutions to a range of problems, but we don’t know what problem you have. Where is the water coming from? 4 likely options - sunroof drains, windshield side trim, windshield seal (rare), and if you’re just seeing water in footwell, could also be...

    Question for the Audiophiles

Terrible pic, but upped my sound deadening game this week on all 4 doors in prep for a major change. Added more damping, butyl rope along the bar in doors, foam tape under rings @Berkut10r made me, then butyl rope around those, sound absorption in doors, MLF curtain back on, then layer of...

    Question for the Audiophiles

Made the mistake of not appreciating the work fitting bigger tweeters would take! While these will be nice and on axis, I know I may be introducing reflecting wave issues, by pulling it off plane with the door.

2001 LX470 front door speakers help

You could always just run new wires from amp to speakers, and just eliminate all the cuts and connections in between. A pain, yes, but cuts out variables. Then you know if you have a problem it is the amp or speaker itself. You could swap driver to passenger speakers to confirm the voice...

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Grits used? I tried something similar a few years ago. Let’s just say it did not turn out as nice! Your pics are inspiration to dig in again! My day today… flush, new hoses, new radiator and HO alternator. And because I am dumb, also my day tomorrow! Knowing I was doing both radiator...

Does this radiator need to be replaced?

Soon, if you want to be safe… or watch closely if you wanna risk it a while.

Rear Heater T's + Rear Heater Hoses

I am swapping out all the hoses and Ts, which I put in a year ago, as I am taking out rear heat… so I could send Ts and all 6 related hoses. PM if interested.

Removing Rear Cooler Control from Headliner on 2000 LX470

Just was able to grab a pic of this weekend so wanted to save for posterity to this thread. The control sits in a metal box. Press up around the edge of the headliner that sits around the control, then with a wide, flat trim tool, try to work to tool between plastic of control and the box...
