He had it fired up on Friday. I don't mind dropping $150 on the kit... I just don't even know where it goes, or what it hooks too... I literally know NOTHING other than I need one. I am waaaaay out of my depth here, but I am ignorant, not stupid. I can learn, and I don't mind wrenching on...

Yeah... the PO redid them. I want the little "half" doors for the tailgate... there was one in the pile of parts, but not the other... there was one and a half jump seats too... The tail gate is a solid piece that is screwed/bolted in place, and it will have to go. I have no use for the tall...

That is EXACTLY my plan. The issue is where to start... It has no battery (easy I think) It needs a clutch master cylinder/slave cylinder/braided line (I have seen kits for like $150, but how do I know if I am getting the right one?) I think that the clutch parts (plate?) aren't even in it...

I plan on making it a daily driver/road vehicle.

So... I am SUPER excited that I will get to learn how to use a bead blaster and a cutter and welder... Those hard doors look FANTASTIC, with all the new gaskets and such, but I have no need for them. I have all those extra pieces that I am going to have to go through, and I don't want those...

Hey everybody- long time listener, first time caller... I just bought a 76 FJ 40 with a 350 conversion already done on Craigslist. I saw three pictures of it, and I decided that after MONTHS of searching for a suitable Jeep CJ (gasp!) to restore, I had to have this old pig! Its about 2 hours...
