Ok, disconnected the brake booster vacuumline and no change, it dosen't seem to affect the brake pedal feel either way, also the flex lines are all new and feel solid. Any other suggestions? Thanks

Hi, I put Royal Purple in my 71 and it made a noticable difference in how it shifted, much nicer, but if your seals are questionable it will also probably leak.

Hi, I ' doing a head gasket replacement on a 1971 F motor and can't seem to figure out the headbolt thread size. They are bigger than a 12mm and smaller than a 14mm. When I look on some tap charts they don't list 13mm, so what size are they? Thanks

Thanks for the replys. Due to a recent back injury I can't handle the current ride.The FJ is used 90% of the time on highway, semi daily driver and the other 10% on the beachs and just fire roads. I did try the search function and found a ton of reply but none that seemed to answer my question...

It's really amazing when the parts are installed correctly how everything works as it should. I turned the pressure relif to face the correct direction and it now carries about 35lbs. at cold idle. Thanks to everyone for the help.

For some reason "pressure relief installed backwards" from a reply stuck in my head and after looking at coolermans pictures again it is backwards, I change that this weekend and see what happens. I wonder what else will turn up as I go thru this rebuild? Thanks

Oil gauge is capillary with a new 3/16 copper line supply.

Now that is a scary thought, backwards. The end that the oil line connects to that feeds the oil filter is pointing at the firewall. This is in a 1971, stock F motor. That is something I will check when I get backl home. Thanks
