    Do you let it sit for long periods? My 74 get mad at me for letting it sit for long periods. If I drive it to work every day, those things don't happen as much or at all. Cold winters seem to be rough on the brake system especially if it gets no use. No tech here but just what I've found...

    Gearing Question 34 x 10.50's

    Is the power valve port plugged with a cap? I think that needs vacume off the intake manifold. I thought that the carb would be rich in that situation(power valve open). I may be 180 off without checking book.

    Did the carb ever run good, and when did it go south? Did it just start running rich? Could you have mis-fueled it with a can of diesel?(I've done that). Is the fuel OK? When you say the carb had jets reversed how did you figure that out? Maybe they were correct in the first place.

    Before you do anything find some Mcguires #2 in the tan bottle. It is really a great cleaner polisher with a slow circular wheel and hand application, works on glass too! You won't believe the results on chrome as well. If I'm not worn out from the job I will seal with mothers carnuba wax.
