Got this figured and realize I was mixed up. 175Amp fuse inline just to protect the 4g to the battery is all that is needed. The factory fusible links would not need to be upgraded to anything higher unless you were drawing more amperage through the stock systems/fuse box etc. I have...
Thank you @xplore that is helpful. Is the entire stock fusible link block energized? How does the fuse box still get power if you no longer have a hot lead coming into the one side of the fusible link? I am not in front of my truck at the moment but that fusible link looked like it went out...
Made some progress last night, got it running and seems to be charging. I think I have read to much about this and just freaked myself out thinking I am going to burn down my truck.
I found a 4awg copper lug that was thin enough to bolt down with the factory wire. Ran the new 4awg back to...

Hello all, in need of some real time help. I am deep in on an alternator upgrade. Putting in 150 amp denso from a 2004 sequoia on my 2000 LX470. I have been trying to follow advice and updating the wiring as well, doing the big three. The issue I have run into is the charging post on the...

Yes. Scan gauge is like $150ish and OBD. There is a code to plug in to get the Toyota trans temp to show up. On a hard climb I see around 190 degrees. Reg. towing with the trailer I am around 150-170.
Hard to see a huge difference with the addition of the airbags. However, not the position of the hitch. I had to lower it to make things level again. Full water and two dogs in the back and things are still level. 15psi in the bags. I ran my air line to the receiver hitch and just fill it...
You are defiantly pushing it a bit with towing but in your next of the woods it may be easier than out here in the west. I tow with my 2000 LX a smaller trailer single axle 4500lbs. The best mods so far have been.
1. Because you still have AHC this is #1 mod. Air lift Air bags ($180 ish)...
