Gauges all working fine. Speed is about 8% off. I was hoping we could somehow easily pull the output drive gear (driving gear not driven gear). But I need some guidance.

I have 30" tires so speedo reads incorrectly. How do I correct that issue? Thanks!

of course I think I did correctly But easy enough to check. this can cause the rubbing on inside wall of wheel well?

30 X 9.5 on stock wheels. 2" OME lift. now tires rub when one tire in hole. Suggestions on things to check?

Thanks for info. The slop is BEFORE the arm of steering box moves. The basic parts of steering were replaced, ball joints, center link rebuilt, aligned, not much else to be loose. I'm sure the worm gear and gear are just worn to a point of the slop. I recall adding one penny years ago, maybe in...

Here is a pic of my beauty. Drove her around this weekend, ran perfect and got a lot of waves and head turns. Several folks stopped me and took pictures as I went shopping.

I have basically a 9/70 Fj40. It did get 2" lift from OME, that's it. Tires are 28X8.5, slightly larger. IThe steering box is worn, about 2-4" left to right slop.

My steering box has a lot of slop and time to replace. At almost 70 years old, power steering sounds like a good idea. Has anyone purchased and installed the SOR kit noted: 100-901? Your help is appreciated! Dennis

I'm retiring within the year and I can start doing some of the rust repairs, only along the deck at rear of truck and under the spare rack. Here is PA we have salt so I keep off the streets in "salt" season. Very nice FJ40.

I went with Toyo 30X9.5 R15 A/T. I think large enough to look good but small enough to allow full turn end to end.
