Bump...still looking. Need steering rack replaced, RMS leak fixed, will probably have front end rebuilt w/new hubs/discs/bearings/CVs and all the seals and nuts and bolts that hold it all together. Maybe even do timing belt kit, serpentine belt and tensioner while I'm at it. Wish RPM Garage...
Same issue just happened with me mid road trip. 2006 LX 470 and approx 150k miles. Mall queen. This past Wednesday drove from LA 200 miles north. About 70 miles in to it, I noticed only the VSC TRAC and VSC OFF lights were on. 50 miles later I was able to pull over for lunch. When I started the...
Maybe check where the rear mounts for the driver and front passenger seats bolt down to the floor, specifically at the rear mounting bolt closest to center console. If you have pinhole leak in the rear heater core lines there may be some carpet discoloration, dampness, etc. in that area.
There...

Didn't check before I removed the neg terminal to reset ECUs but never had a problem with it before. Not loose after I put the terminal back the proper way and tightened it up with proper tools. Ergo, I'd think a mechanic being paid to complete a repair would also do it the "right" way and not...
I know my 4Runners have Torx bolts holding in the door lock actutors as I've replace a few of those. Also had to loosen a couple of torx bolts when I replaced a clock spring in my '04 4Runner. Don't see any anywhere under the hood of my LX, but also can't see the starter lol. I'm feeling more...
Can anyone tell me where this Torx bolt may have come from? I happened to find it, size T30, underneath the plastic cap of the negative terminal connector on my battery a couple of days ago. I recreated how I found it in the last photo, below.
I installed the battery myself in 2020. Since then...
I cleaned the MAF sensors on my '06 LX and my '06 4Runner yesterday, both about 146k miles. Likely the first time they've ever been cleaned although they both appeared to be in new condition on the exteriors, hard to see the tiny wires inside though.
My issue was I didn't disconnect the battery...
Exactly. I did the math based on our admittedly low annual mileage of our LX, gas at $5/gallon, and a $20k sale value of our LX towards buying a new $70+ turbo diesel Tahoe that reportedly gets twice the mileage of our LX. If I forked out the $50k difference in pricing in cash, I found that It...
Here's 275/65/18 in Michelin Defenders (AT2?) about 9 yrs ago, on an '06 LX. Everything else is OEM/stock and not aired down. I will probably go up to 275/70/18's if I don't get my slightly built 2UZFE 4Runner back from my son. I think if you ever plan on doing trails where you'd want to be...
