The TuRDle is sold. I've replaced it with an slightly-built 2000 XJ, but don't excommunicate me...as I may be back. I think Woody owns that NAXJA site too so I'm kinda still in the family...
I'm retiring from the Air Force and moving back to PA in mid-June.
Just put a new fuel pump in it today since that was pissing oil all over the place.
I'll be commuting in this for a bit (wallet be damned!) as I just sold my mini truck today....that was a great little beater for 5 years!
It was Permatex PermaShield which is fuel resistant...I just generically called it RTV. I drove the piss out of it and no leaks yet. It's crazy to park the FJ and have no oil leaking! Maybe it's out of oil... :-P

I got a chance to retire from the Air Force early and I took it and I'll be moving back to PA in the next few...
So, I got the TuRD back from Redline and its running. They told me to drive it around a bit and let them know if anything needs to be adjusted. Once the choke is in, it idles at 1500 rpm. I haven't driven it in such a long time that I forget what it used to idle at, but I don't think it was...
Being from PA, I've killed more deer in cars than with a rifle. Scariest was a 200lb one I hit in high school with a 89 Pontiac Fiero @ 70mph. Took off both the popup headlights, smashed a bunch of fiberglass, hit the top of the windshield, smashed that and luckily flew over the car instead of...
If I lock my keys in my 60 no big deal...my back hatch doesn't lock...lol
Same with my mini...the latch on the rear sliding window is broke, so I can just climb in through there and grab the key
Another guess for the starter. My '74 Dodge Dart Swinger took a key and sometimes a hammer to start. I was too cheap to replace the starter since it has the solenoid on it and was "too expensive" for my E-1 (Air Force) paycheck.
