Tall skinny tires for mini truck

It is a stiffer sidewall, buts tougher too. I ended up cutting a gash in a set of toyo's from a fallen tree branch. They were C rated. Granted C rated are lighter, but im still getting good gas milage with my E rated duratracs. My tire size is equivalent to a 32x12.50x18.

Tall skinny tires for mini truck

Hey adam, are u located in tooele? Anyways, tall skinny tires are great on a mini. I ran a BFG MUD TERRAIN 34x9.5x15 when I lived in alaska. Where I use to go up for moose hunting, a lot of the guys would run the tall skinny. Old school thinking before the balloon tires, the skinny would cut...

    2013 FJ Summit - Ouray CO - July 17-21

There is a group picture from the last event that jonharis posted, it shows a silver fj cruiser with a winch mount in part of the stock bumper. does anyone know about that bumper, was it custom or does someone build it for sale. That is all that I'm after, keeping it simple yet cool. Plus I'm...

    Big Bear Trail Guide!

best thing is to get ahold of some of the maps for all the area and start exploring. I've found simple nice long drives that go over the top of the ski areas down to hiway 38. I've gone up there countless times and still haven't hit all the trails. There is a trail for every weekend up there...

Starts, Runs then dies? 20r & weber.

Get rid of the weber. I had same issues. Put a stock carb on and it ran like a 20r champ. It was no hot rod but wheelin' it ran great.

    1981 4X4 LB PKUP ?'s

As far as seats, I've had a '79, '80, '84, and now my '85. Every one I've put SR5 bucket seats from '88's to '05 in them. Toyota was good about staying pretty close on same bolt patterns throughout the years. Hella comfortable, adjustable lumbar support and side support. I'm spoiled with my FJ...

    Drive line vibration?

Oh yeah, one other possibility. Make sure all the flange nuts and bolts are the same. They are like weights as well. I lost one and put another size in. Gave enough vibration to bug me till I got home.

    Drive line vibration?

I learned the hard way, there are weights on the drive line to balance it out. If they are missing, it can cause vibration. Another is being that u pulled and replaced the u-joints, if u didn't square the front and back flanges, it will be out of square and that will cause vibration. Check it out.

Seriously considering an FJ Cruiser purchase.

U can't go wrong with the FJC. I currently only have the 2.5 level kit right now and running 32" tires. I did change out the running boards for sliders due to a couple little rocks. I've been wheelin' the early 80's pick-ups for years and this is like a caddy in ride comfort. The wife loves it...

    deep down, who really.......

Then that one day, when u aren't thinking about, u steer thru that little mud puddle. I think that every time I have to clean the truck. I think its a weakness we all suffer even when we say we don't. Been that way since a kid.

    CalZona Expedition 2011

I've been only wheelin' here in Cali for 6 months or little over. I've been spoiled with living in Alaska and Utah and not running into many gates like I have here. Your trip sounds awesome, but do u have alternate routes when a trail now has the gate closed?

    deep down, who really.......

Hey everyone and anyone or someone. I don't get on here too often due to work and getting side tracked. But today my wife and I went wheelin' up the main divide and hit a few pud muddles. It got me thinking, deep down inside, who really hates mud? And if u do hate it, why or if u love it like a...

4 runner died at stop light

Another thing to check is the ignitor on the coil. Almost always looked over. I racked my brain when I had it happen on my 85 toy. Found one on a wrecked toy, fired right up. Worth a shot.

    33's or 35's

I've been a BFG mud terrain guy for years. Just bought a 07 FJC with 18" rims. They look great but tires that were on them were worn so I bought 275/65/18 E rated goodyear wrangler duratracs. They are a 32.4" tire but boy howdy do they perform great. I went and ran the clegghorn trail again with...
