Builds 2010 76 series wagon: The story so far

I would love to do the dirtiest things to that 76 Series which would make any Thai street walker blush. Such as taking it on those dunes the next time it rains. Love the post!

I have to shower every time i drive it, but its well worth it

Just posting up a small update. Installed a 2.5" OME lift, along with 33X12.5X15 BFG AT's. What a world of difference this makes! Next up in the coming few days is getting an 8274 winch installed. Also plan to get the AC up and running. Its been scorching hot lately so getting the...

I have to shower every time i drive it, but its well worth it

Cheers mate! So far havent had any issues getting in, as I use the grab handle to lift myself up a little higher. Getting out though is a little trickier, but with time I'll be able to master "swivling" my arse on the bar to get out. Since I'm a lousy arse driver and get stuck all time I...

Got the seats upholstered the other day. Turned out really neat! Also had the door panels redone Had some floor mats installed, and they were cut to fit around the cage mounting points. Really happy with this as well.

Gracias hermano! The clearance for the clutch is ok. I havent had any issues with it. Having said that, we dont rock crawl here so there's not much clutch work needed around the dunes. We didnt put the stock cage over the new one, we put the stock bows over, and that is what the soft top...

Thanks for that ElHefe...it doesnt seem my shorty40 has those captive nuts in place:meh: The more people point out things to the 40, the more I realise how much tinkering the PO did. He really did fiddle with it, and I hate to say it but its getting to me! Oh well. Not much to report, just a...

Drop down gate secured with latch and fits in snugly. Really happy with how this turned out. Cage mounted Secured from under The pillar was bolted on.

Thanks, that would be most helpful. Re the hinges, what would be a good way to beef it up to withstand someone standing on it for a few seconds to get into the rear? We've already welded it on, so I'm reluctant to remove it. If nothing works, I'll just put a "dont sit" sticker on it:meh: I...

I have to shower every time i drive it, but its well worth it

We're using the stock barn door hinges, which have already been relocated to the bottom part of the tub. As for welding the two doors together, I havent really thought about it, but now that you mention it, it may be worth a look. Thing is, the tail gate is slightly crooked as the PO didnt do a...

The cage is done. I'm stoked at how it turned out in the matte finish Working on smoothing out the rear drop down gate Closing up the bolt holes for the original barn door hinges We'll be using these buckles to close the tailgate. I suspect they belong to the...

Thanks for the encouragements:cheers: Latest update from yesterday. The cage is painted, but unfortunately it was done in a glossy finish. I had asked for a matte finish, so today they'll redo the paint. The seat brackets are worse for wear, so these will get sanded down, primed...

Now we're up to date with the pics and have gone live. The cage is out. Getting prepped for paint. The bows obviously came out first. Cut off the rear hoops. These will go back in once cage is back. The old turtle green colour is still alive and...

Thanks for the kind comments guys:cheers: Onto the cage. Test fitting cage. Checking clutch clearance, and also making sure the door closes, AND we can roll the windows The passenger side's clearance was very tight with the AC unit in place, so we had to take that...

I have to shower every time i drive it, but its well worth it

With not much free time, I wasnt able to drive it nor get anything done to the 40. Fast forward a few months, and finally sorted out the flapping tarp. We used adhesive material to stick double sided velcro all around the lip of the tub. Not the prettiest solution, but at least it keeps...
