Bought the FJ in 2013 because the Ford Fusion kept bottoming out on the trails. I think it was a good trade. Been digging dirt and rocks ever since.
Discovered Moab on a mountain bike with friends but switched to the FJ ever after. Not that it wasn't a good place to bike but there were so many trails that needed me on them that time made me switch to 4 wheels.
Living in the Denver area gave me access to a lot of mountain roads and secluded camping, allowing me to whittle down the gear and maximize the experience.
I recently moved to the Tahoe area. Somebody said there is a "Jeep" trail close by so I guess I get to start exploring all over again. Yippee!
