Why do all the early model rollbars look the same? So when someone bought an fj40 in the early 70's from a dealer, there was no rollbar whatsoever on it?

"1971 did not have a roll bar from the factory." So that rollbar in mine and every other fj40 I see is after market? Or is the rollbar toyota and just installed at the dealership? Anyways I found the front hoop available at Man-a-fre via phone call but its not on their website.
