I guess I went off the rails about the tuning. The icon springs were intended for an unloaded unladen cruiser. With the load that you have added, it is time for heavier springs.
you millage on the shocks indicates it is certainly time for a rebuild and perfect opportunity to tune the shock shim stack to your load. You could even look into changing the ride characteristics with the tune. Icon valves their shocks in a digressive manner. Great thing about the Land Cruiser...
You do have a very bad sag. I do not see why your shocks could not be modified to be the same as the Slinky length. Possibly Icon they can not give you shim stack as it was developed outside of their shop. I would like to hear the answer from someone who knows more.
On my cruiser the magnets failed in the center differential lock actuator. They became dethatched and kept the actuator from operating. Had to glue them into position.
Tires frequently flat spot.
But the 2008s had a vibration issue that would become evident while driving up a grade. I walked on one that vibrated badly. I bought one that seemed fine but then while driving home and going up overpasses I noticed the sligtht shimmy. Never did resolve the issue...
I went with the SL passenger rated tire Toyo AT3 n 285/70 17 on my Rock Warrior wheels due to being lighter in weight as well as additional sipping. Wish I could have found subjective comparisons between the two in regards to tread compounds performance on ice and snow, I originally i AT2. The...
Internet search showed me my memory was incorrect. Application calls for button head screws, Socket heads will work but will stick out. Black oxide will have corrosion issues and will likely seize up in the hole due to galvanic corrosion between screw and screw hole. another option would be to...
I honestly thought they screws were not socket head screws (the ones you bought) and are the flat heads as I linked. Sorry for the confusion. I have some extra screws at home and will need to look at them again. I am on a project away form home and it will be a while.
Are you sure that was not for a set (per wheel) here is an option McMaster-Carr - https://www.mcmaster.com/fasteners/flat-head-screws/
Edit Incorrect screw listed in this message. the screw used by Toyota is a button head.
I found the same video regarding the compound change. Came across another video from Toyo that states that their AT3 P rated tire is using a silica tread compound. The Falken P rated tires also had a silica compound.
I went with the new Toyo AT3 as replacements to the Falken AT3W I had...
