Made a little more progress today. Cut some brackets and secured the condenser and dryer. The high pressure line hitting the dryer is gonna be close. Have not tried to connect it yet. Test fitting everything and then I’ll take the wiring...
Very cool build. Just now seeing this thread and the first thing that pops out is y’all are “planners”. Well thought out and should go really well. Having a plan is a bit foreign to me as I typically “wander” through my builds :). I’ve done a...
Nice parts list. You might want to consider converting the transfer case to the manual linkage so you can re-use the shifter handle from the original 60. That will be a lot easier for you
The build plan is full rebuild of the entire drive train. Truck came with about 500km on the clock.
Engine is being built to 20 PSI of boost with modification to the injector pump and aftermarket turbo.
H55 is being rebuilt with modified...
Now for the really fun bit… The donor HJ61. I am working with a buddy in OZ on this part of the project. This is the HJ61 we sourced. Figuring it was easier to do a swap with a running rig than bits and pieces.
Yep,
You can see in the diagram that they are connected to Pin 2 Black/white and 9 Yellow.
Those 2 are the only one you need. The black and white with the spade connector is the one you do not need. Must be for the VSV switch (Idle upp) . The...
This is good. Really good SVED. So to confirm, I cut the Black/White & Yellow, connector (red arrows) and connect to the appropriate pin on the thermistor and pressure switch. Correct? What about the black/white single clip circled in red. Then...
This is the connector (Big square ) you need for your power supply to the AC-Pump.
That i why you need a 2wire cable from the Dryer into the cabin near this square connector.
Fast forward a couple months:
With the new transmission in and the pinion slop fixed, Ian @RevISK refreshed the brakes. Yesterday Jimmy had to come up to Austin for some business and just happened to bring along the windshield glass and gasket...
Alright ma man. I installed the evap plenum yesterday and this electrical topic is on my mind now. I’m far from “skilled” in this arena, but can typically follow instructions. What you wrote in this post will get me started. I do not have a...
Electrical,
There is a 10A OEM AC fuse prewired in the truck .
The connector for the compressor is prewired. Single spade connector near the alternator.
Then use the OEM connector under the dash for the evaporator. That means ,you need to cut the...
Spent the day at my place with Jimmy @CenTXFJ60 and a bit later on with Galen @bottombracket trying to wrap up his HJ61.
60,61 and 62 in the house.
Yay.
If my assumptions are correct then they provided you just like me with this condenser.
Because the whit is to small i think this one is for a early 70 series. 73/74/75 maybe.
One more thing,
On my provided lookalike AC switch they had the wires connected to the wrong spades.
Either the light was on or the compressor was activated.
Switched the spades in the connector and bang light on ment ac on .😁
Damn. You are a lifesaver. I’m at work but will get you the part # on the condenser they sent. I will see if I can track down that part # you provided. Will go through your generous post when I get home this evening. Definitely spawning more...
