It is unfortunately time to sell my beloved 2004 Land Cruiser. This vehicle was maintained and built with remote family adventures and 'overlanding' in mind. Some quick points:
- 2 owner, lifetime AZ vehicle
- No rust
- FULL service history
- I have owned since 2017
- Armor all the way around...
I own a 2004 LC and a 2002 Tundra.
Both vehicles have had a ton of money and elbow grease invested with 100% baselines being done. Suspension wise the LC has a full tough dog kit and the Tundra has 5100s. To make it brief, the Tundra rides like s*** compared to the LC.
A couple other things to...
Just an FYI for anyone curious. I have done every suggestion to solve this issue except for re-routing the return line and replacing a couple aging vacuum lines. We just got back from our yearly Telluride trip. On our way up I filled up with non-ethanol in Cortez and again in Silverton...
For those wondering, I replaced my fan clutch with another Aisin branded unit as the OEM version is now $180. With both the new and old unit at garage temperature (100 degrees or so) the new unit has significantly more resistance. I suspect this will fix my problem but I plan on rebuilding the...
In very hot temps (109+) while idling the temp will start to creep and ac cuts off. The fan is easily stopped by hand and doesn’t have much resistance. Very similar behavior to when I replaced the original fan clutch.
Has anyone had premature failure on these Aisin units? I’ve had mine in for 3 years and it’s showing signs of failing already. Are we sure they are identical to the OEM units?
I realize the OP already made his decision but I guess we can keep this discussion on high quality ground tents going?
I stumbled upon Southern Cross Canvas tents last night. Australian made, even the canvas. Prices are a bit higher and shipping is going to be roughly $280 AUD to the states...
Have been running a 10x14 kodiak canvas for 6 years or so. Biggest pain with setup is the fact that it has 14 stakes. It’s the flexbow style so you have to stake it no matter what. We are looking at the rv5 or one of those 2 pole teepee setups like this one...
Your cheapest option will be single ARB compressor and paying a local shop to install the locker. Elocker axle swap will require regearing or swapping the front diff too. If you are not doing this work shop labor will easily eclipse just throwing the single ARB in the rear.

Have 270k on them. Could save someone some time to rebuild these and swap them on instead of pulling yours and doing the same. Located off Gilbert Rd and Germann.
