SOLD  Price Reduced Again: motivated seller New Hampshire: 1986 BJ74 13-BT 168,000miles

1986 BJ74 with the iconic 13-BT turbo diesel. 24volts. PTO winch, windshield folds down, removable hardtop (FRP). 4wd works great. This thing is an absolute beast. My daily driver for 7 years. In terrific mechanical shape. Starts on the first half-crank of the engine every time. Recently: 2" old...

    weird brake line issue

I am replacing the brake lines that go (from the 90 degree connector that links the flexible hose to hard line on the way to the front calipers on my bj74. The hard line that I took off had a smooth end on the nut beyond the threads that holds the line in the connector. The new hard line...

Help removing front locking hubs (getting to wheel bearings).

Of course, after spending all day yesterday trying to find an example of my hub with the bolt instead of a snap ring and failing, I post here, get the right advice, and then IMMEDIATELY come across this video: same set up.

Help removing front locking hubs (getting to wheel bearings).

Thanks for the suggestions. Worked like a charm. Just opened the other side and its the same deal, so it seems to be designed that way instead of using a snap ring. Now I hav my caliper mounting bolts soaking in PB blaster and will tackle that next! thanks again.

Help removing front locking hubs (getting to wheel bearings).

1986 BJ74 Warn manual locking front hubs all the videos I've seen of these show a snap ring inside the cap of the warn hub. Mine does not appear to have one. It also has this 13mm bolt in the axel that appears to be covering a cap of some sort. I can't turn the bolt loose as turning the bolt...

Wanted  sourcing front leaf springs for BJ74 factory height?

My 1986 BJ74 needs front leaf springs. I would prefer to not add a lift so as to avoid doing the rear end. Any leads on factory heights leaves?

Choosing Mamba turbo from among their many options..... Clueless

I've done a lot of reading here and still don't really understand all of the different turbo configurations. At this point, I really just want to get my BJ74 13BT back on the road. My initial attempt with a Supra CT26 failed, so I'm going to go the Mamba Bolt on route. But there are lots of...

    BJ74 Repair Questions

Looks like this isn't going to work. No reconfiguration of the housing will make it fit in there. I am probably going to have to go more expensive here. Is this really as simple and a direct fit with none of the different turbine size problems associated with other options? People seem to like...

    BJ74 Repair Questions

Yeah I'm in the camp of wanting something that works to replace my currently bad turbo. I did some reading here and found that lots have used this supra turbo (part numbers are cross-referenced) but it really does look backwards compared to mine now that its here. Hoping that maybe my local shop...
