Stopped the the spare from rattling on my '74.. Took the bracket with the rubber stop on it off and over bent it so it was tighter to the tailgate when closed and rattle gone. One rattle gone......50 to go

I agree with FF LG FREAK that if the engine stalls when you hit the brakes that your booster is leaking. Also if you need to pump the brakes to get a good pedal you are out of adjustment or there is air in the lines. Could also be an internal leak in the master. Try adjusting the brake up...
