    Steering sway!

    had the same problem on my 1980 fj40.,the wandering was bad., has Jim previously mentioned long shackles( went back to standard lenght)., and new shocks. It cured the problem on mine.

    mine is a 1980 fj40 that i've owned for the last 19 yrs.....the green color i used is army drab by eastwood.....the easiest pain .to used i have ever seen....easy to correct if scratched or damaged in some way. the post by T eakins by the way is superb...like the overall looks.

    bought a new one ., made in USA.., echlin brand $136 (ouch)....couldn;t find any oem in Moncton(napa)...works good so far 12.87 volts with all acc. on at 1200 rpm.

    for the reinstallation of the head., do you need the side cover off to realign the pushrods on the lifters or are they sliding exactly where they should on the lifter without the need to be hand guided ? i may need to do the exact same thing. thanks
