    HELP Please !!

KLF, I wondered about any hoses in that area also. I'm thinking about having it towed to a local Toyota dealer and let them determine exactly where the leak is. The tow is free, I have a service, and it would be worth the money to know exactly what is the problem so I can make an intelligent...

    HELP Please !!

I have dumped far too much into this thing already, and I need something reliable to drive. I'll repair the intake manifold gasket and then put it up for sale. My daughter drives this thing about 70 miles a day, and I cannot afford to worry about her every time she leaves the driveway. The...

    HELP Please !!

Yeah, I agree about the luck part. I have had nothing but trouble out of my 4Runner unfortunately. I just felt like you guys would have a consensus on what I'm being told, and a little helpful advice. And you have! Thanks!

    HELP Please !!

Well, that's what my mechanic buddy said. He put it on a machine to pressurize the system and said it was coming out between the intake and the head. Just got off the phone with a Toyota dealer and he said about $610 parts/labor/tax for the intake manifold gasket, and around $1200 for a head...

    HELP Please !!

Thanks for the quick response. But it isn't the head gasket. It is the intake manifold gasket between the intake and the head, I'm told. Again, not a mechanic! I'll check that customer thingie you mentioned just in case though.

    HELP Please !!

I own a 1995 4Runner. Let me say off the top that I'm not mechanically inclined! It was just diagnosed as having a blown gasket between the intake and the head, on the driver side near the firewall. Antifreeze/water were pouring out of that area. Any estimate on what it will cost to repair...

    4Runner Oil Change Help, Please!!!

I didn't take off the skidplates. I did take out the front bolts on the front plate, then loosened the bolts on the rear plate. Since the sucker still didn't seem to want to budge, I gave up that route. Next time, I'll take the plates off if I have to use a sawzall! But, it really worked ok...

    2002 4Runner Auto Differential Actuator

Yep, the price includes the parts. I definitely would not attempt that work.

    2002 4Runner Auto Differential Actuator

At least I think that's what they said it was called. At any rate, mine is apparently bad. The 4Runner will shift into 4WD, but only if I'm going about 5mph or so. I'm told this is about a $1400 job to replace the unit.:bang: So, any advice on having this done? I do oil changes and that...

    4Runner Oil Change Help, Please!!!

Hey, thanks for the quick response! I have the 3.4L V6, it is a 2002, not aware any other engine was available. I finally figured out a way to reach the stupid filter. I put a cup-type Snap-on oil filter in from behind the skidplate, stuck a ratchet in from in front. Somehow got the two...

    4Runner Oil Change Help, Please!!!

Hi folks, I'm new to the forum, and new to my 4Runner. First time oil change, and I'm stumped. It is a 2002 Sport Edition with the skidplate package, etc. How in the world do you get to the %&^*^ oil filter to remove and replace it? I'm used to simple things like my F250 diesel. Lay in one...
