Thanks.......that doesn't surprise me as i usually choose the weirdest, most difficult, time consuming and not necessarily logical route!

    Ignition switch source?

Hey Spike, I am wondering if you can take an 81-84 harness and splice new switch onto old plug wiring retaining the "buzzer"?

Coil w/ internal resistor...can you use it?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, After combing the forum threads for a couple of days here is my question. I need to replace my coil...can I use one with an internal resistor and jettison the "igniter". I have a 1986 FJ60. I have looked at schematics, read a number of threads having to do with...

    60 series relay rod ends

Even though I have the FSM, it is still not completely clear. It says tighten down completely, to me that means tighten that plug until it does not turn anymore, then back it off a turn and a third. A thank you to everyone here....

got it from SOR, so don't have the Toyota #. Shift lever does not have any kind of bend to it and I can tell you that the top of the shift tower is not "level" or centered in the hole in the body. As I got all my stuff from SOR, I think there were no mix ups...I hope

A thank you to everyone here....

Thanks for all the input here....I got the tranny and shift lever from Spector Off Road. The general consensus here, when I was first trying to deal with this was change the bell housing OR change the cross-member and mount (but not both)....which I did. I am going to also contact SOR to see...

A thank you to everyone here....

I do have the 3F bellhousing, also I think the frame is about an '82

A thank you to everyone here....

Here is a pic as centered as I can get it, the shifter is exactly in neutral, motor is sitting correctly on mounts. My frame is an '82, I was told that the two issues for the '86 was the steering box bolt holes and the transmission mount difference.
