Somewhat common failure point on these. I was rebuilding mine and found the start of a crack (maybe 1-2” long) right in the same area your gave way.
how do you use your 43? Do you take it out for icecream, cruise dirt roads, wheel it or all the above?
I decided to pass. Reluctantly.
I don’t see many trucks in that condition at that price these days but with all of the projects I have going on with my 40 I don’t have much time to work on the 470. There are still good trucks out there so I’ll just be patient:)
1. Great feedback. I was leaning toward transfer case bearing issue or something similar. It didn’t sound like a heat shield loose. Good thought though.
2. no lights on. Likely the height sensor.
Hey fellas.
I’m looking for a 100 series and found one local (actually an LX470).
it has about 220k on it. Pretty clean truck. There were a few issues I found and wanted to talk to some experts;)
1. Drive line noise. When driving down the road, there was a kind of a higher pitched...
I purchased from Craigslist.
Look for cracks in the housing parts (the mounting ears and in my case, the motor mount). If they will allow, pull the upper housing off and check the gears for excessive rust from sitting in water that got into the housings and was never drained.
Have you done anything to the cruiser since the purchase in august? Any updated pics? Why are you selling? No offense and not trying to troll but it is a bit odd to post the exact same description, pics and reason for selling as the guy you purchased it from 5 mo ago.... am I missing...
