I’ve not fabricated new strikers for the rear hatch yet… unfortunately the door sills and front floor under drivers & passenger seat has risen to the top of the list. When it started feeling like the gas pedal was getting higher I knew it was...

Final update - received my locks from Matt. He repaired my broken hatch lock cylinder, cut me new keys based on the passenger lock code, and rekeyed a driver's door lock cylinder & ignition to match. Incredible work & done with really high...

Well, now it's done: ToyotaMatt is no longer a forum member. Really another great resource lost, and it's threads like this that pushed it. Plenty of blame to go around, but it's not all the vendors'. Not defending VTP business, it's the...

With an impact and the right deep socket… :D It doesn’t even damage the nuts. I’ve had the same set since 1992. I know that they’ll only take an extra minute or two for a pro… but a pro will find an easier target with fancier rims and tires. Up...

I've never done it with rope, but I did use compressed air. I(t did the job perfectly, and nothing could get stuck in the cylinder. I did it back in '92 by brazing a compressor fitting into a spark plug after breaking the Porcelain out. I then...

Same thing here with a Carter rotary vane electric Fuel pump. It can sit for months... turn the key to prime the carb, pump the gas once, and turn the key. It doesn't matter if it has been sitting for months or days, It starts right up. When it...

I’ve been chasing a speed induced wobble for a while. It started in the back so naturally I figured it was the pinion angle from that nice new Tom Woods driveshaft (I never start with the easy things). Messed with that for a bit; wedges and...

Makes sense. FYI: Add states has no papers. If they know who is the registered owner it's easy to get registration papers from any Auto plan office. Or... it's hot and you should run not walk away. I've had papers for every car and truck I've...

There was a time I’d have jumped on that. Unfortunately now, with two bad knees, I don’t drive it enough for a diesel swap to make sense. I’d need recoup the cost of a diesel swap… especially since a 3B will eventually need $$$ to keep it running.

Supposedly Westshore spring repaired the body mounts… but who knows how far the repair goes.

Installation of an 8274 on a TJM bumper on a Lexus LX450. When I bought the Cruiser it had a Superwinch X9, the winch worked sort of, not well. I had it off, cleaned all the contacts and wire ends, reinstalled and it still failed to function...

Pulled the front wheels and had a look. Rotors are 27 mm thick and minimum spec is 28 mm. Pads are decent so I’ll leave them be for now, and plan on replacing the rotors and pads in the near future. In the meantime I’ve ground off the lip that...

Not removing it would be ideal since the rotor is a part of the hun and can’t be removed. Not how I’d design it, but just the way it is. Damn throw away world. There’s a lip on the inside that is 2-3 mm high so I suspect it’s beyond turning.

Yeah I should have done this years ago. Made a huge difference. in future a door rebuild with new felts might be the first thing I do with a new to me truck. Not that I really plan on buying anything anytime soon.

I don’t think inflation would account for a rusty 45 that I bought 30 years ago for $100 now being $15,000. I get our dollar being worth less than toilet paper… but what some people want for their garbage is often crazy these days.

Does anyone know of a shop in Greater Victoria that will turn a front dually rotor? It's a beast with the hub and rotor all in one. Since they run $350-400 a piece I'd prefer to turn them if possible. I haven't pulled the brakes apart, but at...

Looks like it has been sitting there for 15 years. I think I may have gotten into Landcruisers too early… everything seems expensive compared to all the prices I’ve paid. My 40 was $1250, my first disc axle was $100, my 45 parts truck was $150...
