It’s not too bad and very satisfying when it’s fixed. Critical advice is to buy the plastic tools…essential to not mar the surfaces when you pry open the plastic casings.
Hi guys,
I’ve tried a forum search but couldn’t narrow my search for a good mechanic (oil changes and maintenance) around Boston. I recently had an oil change and tire rotation at a dealership They recommended brake pads and rotors at 5mm. I denied that service and went on my way. Ever...
Thanks for the write-up, Ken. Excellent build. I’ve done a fraction of your build- tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats and Expedition One Rock Sliders. Appreciate the info on the spare; didn’t realize it wasn’t full size. Suppose that’s on me for assuming.
Also, agree with the storage...
Hello, gang.
I searched for an install for an OEM bumper and came up blank. I priced it out at my local body shop without install and it seems to be about $1500 (although I can’t remember if this includes paint). My confidence is better than normal after fixing the door actuator with the help...
Pulled the trigger on the Expo One’s for the Taco. 10-12 weeks until delivery then install at a local shop. It’s a mint but ideally “worth it in the long run”. I do love the look of ‘em.
So when I popped the panel off for the second time I noticed the green cable blowing in the wind. I don’t think I had secured it into it’s housing when I replaced the panel the first time and it wasn’t attached to the handle mechanism. Easy fix.
Appreciate the input and diagram.
Thanks for the info. The picture you posted doesn’t look like the actuator l pulled out. The pic by @jjtrou2072 posted earlier in the thread and looks like mine. Maybe it’s just the other side of the actuator? Also, not familiar with the fork and the pin.
Hi all,
Replaced the motor of my drivers side actuator yesterday (thank you @ayaws and all who have come before me). It actually went pretty smooth with the key fob working, the emergency key working and all doors locking when you place the LC200 into drive or reverse. The issue now is when I...
Appreciate the info, understood about the OEM question. I’m planning on the Expo One’s but a bit squeamish about the install as the guide didn’t make much sense to me. The link says front and rear bumper but it’s for the rock sliders. Any thoughts appreciated...
Also looking for sliders for my ‘24 Taco. You mentioned you like the look of OEM. I have the option I would guess to buy OEM sliders. I’m leaning heavily to the Expo One but am rethinking after OEM entered the conversation. Is there a benefit to the OEMs that I’m missing? I like the look of...
Hi all,
I have a seemingly odd problem. The door lock on the driver’s side gets stuck in lock and I have to go around to the passenger side and open the driver door. I click the unlock button to no avail. I’ve looked up solutions on the internets and found everything to taking off the door...
As @Madtiger mentioned, having a phone mount so far out of line of sight is a non-starter. I don’t know if others use use the LC nav system and therefore wouldn’t need to access the phone visually for directions but I need it closer to my visual field.
