2008 LC. 319k miles. Replaced radiator at 100k or so. Other than that just routine. Starter, alternator water pump power steering pump. SAIS failed so I put in a hewett bypass system. Power steering fluid cooler line rusted out so had to replace that. Fuel level sensor as well. Keeping her going
Bought my 08 with 65k, but that was 13 years ago. Similar story, carting kids here and everywhere. Served the family well. I’d recommend full weather tech protection mats for the mess and spills that are inevitable. And rust prevention! Something I wasn’t religious about over the years.
Why did it need rear main and crank seals? Seems like a red flag to me, especially at relatively low miles. 2008 here, 307k, no seal issues. I’d want to know more.
Found this from another thread on here.
If you own a Toyota and have 100k miles or more (100k-1mil) miles on ODO, please send an email to Toyota_Social@toyota.com request a free windows cling with a picture of the odometer. Toyota will reply with a link to request for free windows cling.
2008 LC, 305k miles, bought used at 65k miles. Just replaced original power steering pump. A couple tire pressure sensors dead, will replace all of them when I need new tires.
Of note is I replaced the radiator at 100k or so and wasn’t on top of it so the replacement radiator is the same...
Thanks. Yes I can confirm I have access from the passenger wheel well. Just take off the plastic splash guard. The only issue is at 305k the bolts are very rusty. I hit them with some penetrant and let them be for a while but they are tough. Afraid I’m going to snap a bolt.
So in the interest...
Original power steering pump only made it to 305k miles. Has anyone done it themselves? Videos of the tundra replacement show you can access it through the passenger wheel well. Anyone know if LC is same? It looks tight but I think I can go that route.
I’ll post my progress
Thanks in advance
