What have you done to your 200 Series this week?

Added a spacer plug to my Slee rear bumper to stop the tire carrier from rattling while driving. The model is Carrier Lock Plug.

Incompatible ARB Compressor and Switch-Pros Harness

I understand that there are a variety of options for getting the two connectors to mate, but the problem I was trying to address is, "Why is this the case?" Why are the ARB connectors not compatible with the Switch-Pros connectors? I've checked my other connectors as well as on-line, and it...

Using only two Switch-Pros' switches with front and rear lockers

I just installed a Switch-Pros unit to control my ARB compressor, and front and rear lockers. The standard wiring uses three switches: one for the compressor; and one for each of the lockers. This seemed like a waste of one switch since the compressor must always be on when one of the lockers is...

Incompatible ARB Compressor and Switch-Pros Harness

I've decided that trying to use the Switch-Pros connector is a losing battle; I just spliced into the ARB harness and will return the Switch-Pros.

    Illumination Fuse?

What is a good place to connect to a circuit that I can use to illuminate switches when the headlights are on? Is there a fuse in the main fuse box that I can tap into?

Incompatible ARB Compressor and Switch-Pros Harness

I don't think you're losing your mind, but if you look at the two connectors, you will notice that the latch is at the top of each of them. Flipping one over will not allow the two to latch. They can connect but the wires are in the wrong location.

Incompatible ARB Compressor and Switch-Pros Harness

That will not solve the problem. The connectors themselves are part of the problem. The ARB has an extension below each contact while the Switch-Pros has a mating indent above. They can only mate when one connector is upside down.

Incompatible ARB Compressor and Switch-Pros Harness

I am trying to install a Switch-Pros 9100 but am running into a problem connecting it to my ARB twin compressor. The ARB plug is on the left and the Switch-Pro harness connector in on the right in the image below. As can be seen, the two will not mate: the ARB contacts are higher than are the...

    Relocated Rear Camera

Yes, I didn't catch that you have an earlier model. Toyota made a number of changes is 2016, which probably explains the differences.

    Relocated Rear Camera

Thanks for your questions. I cut off the camera connector where the wire bundle goes into a larger bundle as seen in the photo. I did the same at the 22-pin connector. Unfortunately, those wires are shorter and more difficult to work with. In addition to the four wires and shield there are two...

    Switch-Pro Visor Bracket

There are numerous recommendations for where to mount the Switch-Pro control head, but I decided that having it on the back of the visor would be best. It would be readily accessible yet easy to store. I 3d-printed a simple bracket that holds it firmly. The only problem is that the visor cannot...

    Relocated Rear Camera

I have a Slee rear bumper with the Jerry can holder on my 2016 LC. The holder and the mounted spare tire blocks the rear camera's view almost completely. I relocated it by mounting it to the underside of the holder. I designed and printed a camera holder and plate to seal the rear hatch opening...

    2016 Front / Rear Lockers

Thanks for your comments. They are reinforcing what others are says and what I've read. I agree that the proper installer is key for success. I just have one question (actually two): Do you have the part number for the housing you finally used, and did you find it in a salvage yard?

    2016 Front / Rear Lockers

There seems to be some confusion about the need to change front and/or rear differential housings. From what I've read and learned talking to the folks at Just Differentials, it appears that there is no need to change the front differential housing when using ARBs. The rear housing needs to be...
