    Thanks Charlie, Sorry I left out such important details My FJ40 is a 1966 build frame (it has a 1968 title) I did use the wiring diagram and ran 12 v to the stator that gets powered up when the ignition switch is on, an 8 gauge cable to the battery and a ground. Seems to be working just fine...

    The picture above shows the difference between the two axles inner shafts. The left is from my FJ 40 with a ball joint. The right is from the "donor" FJ 60 axle, which is much larger diameter and uses a Birfield type CV Joint
