I’ll send a pic when I get it. The only place that had it was cruiserparts.net . They also provided my passenger side (right side) part and it was factory.
I stopped working on the truck for a while after I tried and failed pulling/beating out a dent in the drivers door with my stud welder. I also got a bit discouraged by all of the shapes required to put the various pieces of the inner fender/body...
I’m sure it will be obvious once someone names it but I can’t figure out for the life of me what this is. Not great pictures. I mean the round thing that bolts to the fender line up against the firewall. Vacuum pump? Big vacuum line comes from...
Not much of an update but I put the car back together for the time being while I catch up on some other projects and wait for more metal to arrive so I can make a nice patch for the rear quarter/rear fender liner. Ordered some rattle can paint...
Big day. Seam sealer came in along with proper weld through primer. I have all of the patches for bolting inner fender on the outer fender and one big patch left on inner fender. I’ve put fender on and off a few times to get things lined up. I...
I’m in the middle of replacing inner and outer rocker panels. Just about to weld outer rocker on. My rear quarter panel and inner fender have been patched and there was substantial rust in the rockers back there so I’m not quite sure how it...
Bondo filler is porous so water can get through of topcoat of paint is breached. I think there are other fillers that are waterproof. I plan to use something like the JB Weld brand body filler on my MG.
Had a great morning on the car figuring out the final pieces before I weld the outer rocker on. I didn’t get any pictures but I had a 1” by 1” or so patch I needed to get in the tub horn with a tricky curve before I sealed it up with last small...

I love it when a plan comes together. Running board fits perfectly. Now I have to drill holes and weld rearmost two nuts and then I can start closing it all up. Quick tool update. I bought a 13” mini belt sander air tool and it is a true game...
Shifted focus yesterday a bit while I’m waiting on materials to the running board. I’ll need to mount it to the front two mounts to line up for determining exactly where to drill holes and weld nuts for the rear one. This turned into a drama as...
Long day yesterday but much progress made. Floor patch is back in. I’m having a devil of a time with blow through, most likely due to gaps that are too large. I’ve ordered some welding spoons that will hopefully help. Inner rocker is welded in...
Old panel out! New one looks good! Have to repair rust in floor pan before I can actually weld rocker in place since they weld together where there is missing metal. Also need to reweld a small tab that attaches firewall on lower corner...
I think I’m making progress. Following that video I dove into metal shaping and welded the resulting piece to the car. It’s not a perfect match but it will hopefully do. My welding penetration is terrible but it will hopefully improve as I go...
Major cutting is done. Got the tub to rocker piece off. It’s much worse than in that video. Fingers crossed my local machinist friend will make it for me. Not sure I can justify bead roller and stretcher shrinker for this job.
More progress today. I found a great YouTube video that shows this exact job on a short wheelbase 70. He fabricated all of the parts while I’m taking the path of less resistance with new metal from Toyota. I hit a bit of a discouraging point...
Thanks LRDF. I need to restore the original bolt holes and overall fender lip and the outer edge of the apron where they connect. I also need to restore the lowest part of the fender where it attaches to the body. Pictures and measurements of...
