A good and cheap way to level off the rear would be to use an add a leaf. MAF has one: http://www.man-a-fre.com/parts_accessories/addaleafsprings.htm
It will stiffen up the ride though, especially if you go the route of the shorter leaf.

x2 on the desmog. I just finished mine last week and it runs WAY better. A little better top-end and much smoother overall operation. It very hard for me to get my motor to stumble anymore. :cool:

Looks a bit different from my set-up on my '85 fj60. My EGR outlet is not located as far toward the down pipe as yours does. Plus the EGR valve mounting location looks different too ... buuut since its desmoged non of that should matter as long as it bolts up to your head.
Yeah, i too have to acquire a few tools before i can tackle this project. Thanks for bringing up the tie rods, etc. :hhmm: I really havent put much thought into them in this endeavor.
