The 2 wiring setups do the same thing, the Hewitt harness is fitted with factory style plug harnesses with no cutting required. Slyfoxes setup requires cutting and splicing but saves around $100.
I won't be able to offset mine because I'm only doing 1 clamp per CV assembly. I'm not going to disturb the factory clamps that are holding solid at this point.

But, I've gotten lots of marks like that off of different vehicle with Turtle Wax scratch remover. It's a very MILD compound that will take some elbow grease but will make them all but disappear. I always put a coat of wax on afterwards.
