This would be a short term fix. In a few years (5 years or so), I will be replacing the tub and cowl since they are held together with extra steel.
So for the short term period, is the products listed the best to use?
Thanks

I am getting ready to start to 'restore' the frame with the body on. There is surface rust and lots of grime.
I plan to wire wheel and/or flap disk the frame down to the bare metal.
Then use Eastwood Rust Encapsulator Plus on the area after using a de-greaser.
After the Rust Encapsulator Plus...

Sounds like an LS or newer SBC is the way to go.
Thanks all, have a great holiday weekend!

So this maybe a really stupid question. I bought my 40 with an older beat SBC350. I am gonna have access to a cheap 2012ish Nissan 350z that is beat up on the outside but has a relatively new, low miles, high horsepower motor in it. This would make it basically a everyday driver with a new...
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40 Cowl, I believe its an early 70's cowl. Cut off tub, still have sections of the tub on it that will need to be removed.
For the age, its in nice condition. I bought it to install but have decided to go in a different direction.
If you want more pics, let me know...
Currently the rig has power brakes, disk in front and drum in rear. I would drill any new holes as needed and weld closed any dash/firewall holes not needed. My cowl is rusted at the bottom of the door jamb where the tub is bolted on.
