    For Sale Orange County: 1985 FJ60 H55 5 speed 165k miles

I've been looking for a 62 but a 60 with the H55 is tempting. I'm also really close to you (looks like this is in Rossmoor?). For those of you familiar with rust repairs, what are your opinions of the rust pointed out in the Google Drive photos? Specifically the two points on the tailgate and...

    Differences between 88 FJ62 vs. 89-90 FJ62

Sorry to bump an old thread, but like the OP, I can't find the posts mentioned that outline the differences between 88 and 89-90. From what I can gather, the differences are that some 88s have: - Manual windows/locks - Lap belts in the back - Different computer for the 3F-E Besides these...

FJ62 - List of Inspection Notes

The seller gave me a list of maintenance done by the first two owners from 1993 to 2000. I pulled a Carfax and there are service entries from 00 to 23 but there isn't much detail as to what was serviced other than "oil and filter change", "oil pan gasket replaced", "transmission checked", etc...

    new to the forum

Congrats. I was watching that auction. Did you do any kind of pre-inspection prior to placing a bid?

    Wanted USA: '88-'90 FJ62

I could be interested. I'm mostly looking for a grey/blue combination but could be swayed. Keep me in mind when it is ready. Cheers!

Now this guy is in the 60 series threads? New to me, 1988 FJ62

Do all 88s have the shoulder belt hole in the C-pillar or is it only available in a specific VIN range? Thanks!

For Sale 1988 FJ62 (Low Miles)

Looks like the selling dealer was also the buyer of this at the 2021 auction. I don't know how realistic Hagerty's valuations are. BaT pricing seems to be inflated over Hagerty. Pandemic pricing for sure. Looking through the photos, it is certainly clean for a stock Cruiser, but not what one...

FJ62 - List of Inspection Notes

Funny you mention that. When I posted a feeler classified for my 66 on the Bronco forum, I joked that I'd want to interview the buyer to see what their intent is.

FJ62 - List of Inspection Notes

Good to know. I've been going through the mechanics threads trying to find shops that are local to me and/or whatever truck I find, asking about pre-sale inspections and such. I found a couple, sent a few DMs, and am waiting to hear back. From the photos, no real justification at all. If it...

FJ62 - List of Inspection Notes

Thanks. I was hesitant to mention the asking price and wanted to keep this focused on the mechanical function of the truck. Being from the Bronco world, I get it when someone new comes into a forum all hyped on an an overpriced truck. Long-term members roll their eyes. The noob gets the...

FJ62 - List of Inspection Notes

This is mentioned over on the Corsetti blog but in the context of an FJ60. I'm guessing the same sentiment would apply to the FJ62?

FJ62 - List of Inspection Notes

Looks like my earlier replies are still waiting for mod approval. In the meantime, here's the FJ62 I test drove. None of the listings mention mileage. https://www.classic.com/veh/1989-toyota-land-cruiser-fj62-jt3fj62g5k1112668-4AB5d9n/ Based on earlier theads (10+ years), Copley had a bit of...

FJ62 - List of Inspection Notes

The biggest thing I did to the Bronco was pulling off the front end and replacing the C-bushings. The hardest thing about that wasn't swapping parts but getting it dialed in to prevent Bronco Lean. I can follow instructions, but lack depth of experience for fine tuning and knowing what to...

FJ62 - List of Inspection Notes

Thanks for that. I have found a few other posts on this but I don't yet understand the effort involved to fix it. Considering the different trucks I've looked at, this is the first time a seller has given me a list of mechanical issues. I'm not sure of the effort involved to do the repairs. Am...
