Advice on whether I should buy a Land Cruiser

JB weld is a brand of 2-part epoxy. You can find it at almost any hardware store and auto part stores. If you need half the washer thicker than the other, cut washers in half and epoxy them to a whole washer to get a washer that is thick on one half...

Thanks, Guys. I purchased one of these ebay clones just to see. I have two toyota ones (25870-61011) but I'm a little confused whether they are working or not. When I try the test below, I get some confusing results. Also when I connect port R to intake manifold vacuum, the output vacuum to...

Thanks @Spike Strip . Do you or @OSS remember which ebay EGR modulator works for the FJ60. I can find one that references "land cruiser" but the vehicle application starts with 1988 (FJ62). However there are other applicable Toyota models listed prior to 1988, but not the land cruiser...

Ignition thingy? Bottom of key barrel/cylinder broken - need to order/replace.

Spector off road (www.SOR.com) may have that part used. They have something they call the steering column lock shaft. They don't show pictures so you should probably communicate with them to make sure it is the correct part.

Vacuum leak smoke test - results.

The rubber boot on the accelerator pump is installed from the top side. I suppose you can tease it out and install a new boot without removing much more than the accelerator pump lever. To replace the pump itself the air horn (top part of the carb) needs to be removed. It is held on by 8...

The sizes are 147.5 for primary and 200 for secondary. I believe those are “hundredths of a millimeter” so 200 = 2.00 mm diameter. My originals were 147 and 200 respectively. The jet style is N100.604 which is sometimes called the “large head”. The head is the same diameter as the oem jet...

I did get my back up carburetor put back together, installed, and idle mixture set. It runs pretty good now. The Mukini jets did fit, but the threads seemed a little tight. I measured the threads on my old ones to be M5x0.8, but some references I found for the Mukini jets say the threads...

FJ60 Heater and Coolant Hose Reference

I searched those part numbers on ToyoDIY.com . It shows that both are for the FJ60, but without AC as mentioned above. The part number for vehicles with AC are shown nearby and indicated as "w/cooler".

The nozzles don't need to point directly at the pipes. It might make it easier to put the tubing on if they do not. As long as the tubing is not going to be too close to moving parts like the fan and belts I think it should be OK. What kind of thread locker are you using? I think you...

So I've been away from this thread for a while. I was distracted with some other stuff, then more recently I've been working on an exhaust leak which turned into several leaks. Now I am rebuilding my spare carburetor. So far I have taken it apart and have put everything through the ultrasonic...

    Exhaust(ing) leak(s)

I installed the used AI manifold and put everything back together. Success! My exhaust leak is gone. In summary, I double gasketed the exhaust manifold to downpipe seal, put a remflex gasket on the exhaust manifold to EGR J-Pipe joint, tightened the compression nut on the EGR J-pipe at the...

Do you know your FCS/ICS is working. It is the electrical device mounted on the top side of the carburetor on the firewall side.

    Exhaust(ing) leak(s)

Sorry. I’m probably using confusing terminology. The unions for my 1985 FJ60 are made from a metal that will stick to a magnet. I suppose these are some kind of carbon steel. Some of my original unions I didn’t want to use again so I got some used replacements. Of those, two are made from...
