Your driverside "pump" is an alternator. Your passenger side alternator is an....alternator.
You've got two alternators but no smogpump. You're right, smog pump/air pump same thing.
Why two alternators? Maybe an unusual electrical need or maybe someone used one as an idler in place of a bad smog pump. Either way you're in trouble, smogwise.
Yes I am! In the last 24hrs I think I've got enough info to make a map - or at least close. Thanks largely to this community! My plan now is to replace the GM alternator with the smog pump. Thanks again Honk.
