If the purple wire is still somehow running the antenna, I have to wonder if the factory controller is not in play anymore due to some other antenna or controller. Like I say, when I first started working on mine things were not making sense then I noted that previous owner had installed an aftermarket antenna that worked off of the purple wire. I had to rip all that wiring out and find the factory antenna connectors and then buy the factory 60050 antenna which is far more expensive than it should be...
If I connect to the violet wire AND I allow that added-on blue patch cable that runs to the antenna to stay in contact with the blue-green wire (which I believe is in one of the amp bypass harnesses there in the dash), THEN... the antenna goes up and down as the Sony stereo turns on. If I remove contact with the violet wire from the stereo, the antenna goes down. What a mess.
