I was in hurry playing dad taxi tonight but did have time to stop for a quick look at a mini truck for sale. Kinda clapped out with a wood bed. I saw the solid axle is what made me stop. '83 with a '85 motor, sprung over, 5 spd. $300. Not sure on mileage. I got a pic of the FS sign, didn't say anything about "not running".
The price got my attention. I have a pic on my new phone that i haven't totally figured out yet.
Thoughts? I don't know much about mini's.

Big things with an 83 is frame rot behind the fuel tank, especially at the rear hanger on the front right spring and gear issues in both the trans and transfer. 2nd gear is especially prone to wear out the synchro. Timing gear slop is the only real thing that can kill a 22R.

I had an 83 that I put a maple butcher block bed on.

If anything its a parts truck. Good front axle, and if the motor is an 85 it could be a 22re. the rest is worthless though. 55" rear axle, G-series trans, etc...

Or just drive it/wheel it as it is.

So if it is a 22re it should be fuel inj., correct?

22RE if it's an 85, but if it's an 85 motor in an 83 he'd have to have really wanted to keep it FI to go through all the trouble of wiring it up over just slapping the carby intake on.

True and if its an 85 PU motor (as opposed to the 4runner) odds are its a carb to begin with. The pick-ups held on to the carb option well into the late 80's

Heck I'd buy it and throw some training wheels on it so I can start wheeling again.

You guys are all gonna' leave this on the table? He set it SO nicely.

Its too easy, and its phil's attempt to make light of his own innability to own a POS land cruiser.

I dont want to validate that with a response.

Here is a good litmus test; if you are agreeing with Phil, stop typing!
