Re-Post - Fully restored FJ40, TX
I originally posted my refurbed FJ40 in February of this year and learned a lot in the process of the supply/demand, and pricing of the vehicle. In my original posting, I asked for $65k. Though I purchased it for much more, I'm willing to part with it for much less. Why? Because I need the space, and could use the money. Based on the feedback from many, I'm now asking $45k. Once again, here are the specs: 1978 FJ40 Retro-Mod Garage kept Mint condition; only change I made was to add dual engine fans to accommodate the TX heat Brand new Chevy Ram Jet crate motor, now with 1,400 local TX miles, Performance built 4L60 Transmission Rebuilt T-Case Rebuilt Front and Rear Differentials Power Steering A/C Navigation Satellite Radio Custom...
I told myself I would never do this.. But before I bought my 67 Ford Bronco 2 years ago I had a 71 FJ40 pending from a seller. I seriously thought I had it. Long story short.... I was in the market for an Early Bronco or an FJ40... The Bronco came through while the FJ didn't.... Fast forward to now and i'm catching the FJ fever ... So if there are any FJ40 owners looking to unload an FJ40 comparable to my Bronco and looking to add a different horse to their stable... well let me know if you have any interest in a trade. I would prefer a pre 75 FJ40 and a stock look with the steelies, hard/soft top, Original FJ motor, etc, etc. If you're interested we can talk. Here's the link to the local craigslist post...
77 FJ40
I purchased this truck from CCOT in 1996. I have put 8000 mile on it since I've owned it and only 4000 miles since an engine rebuild in 1998! No rust and no leaks! Paint shows better in the photos than it really is but it is very presentable. Emission control equipment has been removed. Upgraded ignition system along with a mag pulse distributer and two stage Weber carb. Old Man EMU shocks and new springs. Stock and tube bumpers front and rear. Options from CCOT were power steering, carpet, new cooling system and CCOT under carriage splash shield. This truck is not perfect, buts its one hell of a nice, mostly original, rig. Asking $24999
Dreaded this day but have to sell my project due to my rottweiler needing some major surgery. The title/VIN, frame, stock F135, 3spd trans and drivetrain is all 1964. The body sitting on the frame is a 1970, great shape only surface rust, couple small dings, no big dents or cancer. Currently the body is sitting on the frame, roller only. Motor ran great before I did the body swap, had great compression too. I also have: - Early SM465 with adapter to stock FJ40 t-case. - Complete 1994 chevy extened cab pickup donor rig: 383 stroker, nv4500, twin stick NP205, dana 60 front and 14 bolt rear. Detroit in rear. 37in tires, transferflow in bed fuel tank. - The donor rig ran great, I drove it home about 3 hours when I bought it. Bill of...
1977 fj40 and 1981 fj60 in Medford, Oregon
I doubt I'll end up selling both of these but I've got one too many. As of now they're both up for grabs and I'll likely keep the one that doesn't sell first. They're located in Medford, Oregon. Asking $12,000 for the fj60 and $10,000 for the fj40 ($11,000 w/ trailer). http://medford.craigslist.org/cto/4610036928.html http://medford.craigslist.org/cto/4610001930.html
I have a 1972 FJ40 3sp on the floor that I use as my DD for sale. I have a chance to get a needle-in-the-haystack motorcycle that is a once in a lifetime find. I've had it about a year and a half now and drive it pretty much everyday. Got some good, got some bad, but it's dependable and you can drive it home if you wanted to - although it only goes about 60. I actually drove round trip to Austin in it a month ago and she did fine. I did not do the work, but the rig is detailed in this thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/72%E2%80%99-%E2%80%9Cblack-and-tan%E2%80%9D-40-build.583242/ I've only added a few things - optima red top, and an alternator & voltage regulator. I drive it everyday. Got hit with some hail a month or so...
One Owner 1978 FJ40 in Arkansas
1978 Toyota Land Cruiser Hi, guys. I'm helping my parents sell their Land Cruiser. I just tried to create a thread with a link to the Little Rock, Arkansas USA craigslist ad but it appears that as a noob I'm not yet approved for links. This ONE OWNER 1978 Toyota FJ 40 Land Cruiser has 78,000 miles, the original mustard yellow factory paint job, and has always been garaged. 1972 FJ 40 for sale San Diego CA with service records...
This is the FJ 40 you have been waiting for. It has been a labor of love, but now it is time for someone else to go onward. This Cruiser is 100% stock with the exception of an Old Man Emu 2.5 inch lift, with OME shocks and steering stabilizer. I have also had a rear tailgate fabricated to replace the rear barn doors below the rear hatch that were too far gone with rust to save. The rest of the body is sound. I have replaced both wheel wheels, the rear sill, the drivers side floor board and new rear quarter panels. The inside tub and both floor boards have been coated with Herculiner. All other rust is surface rust that can be addressed when and if the new owners elects to paint. I have a spread sheet listing all work done including...
FJ-40 Build Project
Circumstances are forcing sale of a start-from-scratch project. 1970 FJ-40. Vehicle is from New Mexico - virtually no rust. Plan was to build a mild crawler/expedition/highway friendly vehicle with sprung over FJ-60 axles, outboard springs, freshly built Gen I 5.7 Vortec, soft top, 35s. Suspension parts and design are from Redline in Colorado Springs. Current state of vehicle is bare frame - sandblasted and ready for welding spring perches, engine mounts and everything else. Body is stripped of every nut and bolt and ready for paint prep. L460E automatic. Front housing is cut-and-turned with new perches. Lexus GS 470 brakes. Pre-fabbed rear-anti-wrap bar. No transfercase, no rear axle, no seats. Everything else is available...
Hey there.... I have a 1980 FJ40 with the original 6 cylinder/4 speed combo. It has P/S, PB, and front discs. Has new gas tank. Interior is in great shape with decent stereo, front buckets and rear bench seat. It's in decent shape with 33" tires. Has some rust in the rear corners and doors. Not sure on price but was told it should be worth $6k from another LC owner, so we'll start there. Tried attaching pics, but couldn't access them. Will send pics upon request to e-mail or phone.
Need Help, Considering Selling 81 FJ40
Not sure if this should be posted here or not, but I am seriously considering selling my Cruiser. Need to get a more family friendly vehicle, as we just had a second child. I was wondering if it would be worth the trouble to sell it so we could get a better vehicle, or if I couldn't get much for it, I might just keep it, as I really love driving it. I drive it to work everyday, but is does have some major rust areas, including no floorboards left, which I covered with two steel plates, and the rear tire carrier mount is rusted. Overall, mostly original, and has working factory air, fully charged w/ R-12. What do you all think it might be worth? I live in North Georgia, by the way. Thanks! I have lots more pics,

I am facilitating a group effort to buy a 40 for my brother as a surprise wedding present. He had a 40 in the 80's while working around the oil patch in Montana and around the West. Must be turn key, not interested in a project. The idea is for me to source and purchase the rig and show up at his wedding in Colorado where he now resides. Rig can be picked up pretty much anywhere in the US…. interested in/prefer: - turn key ie not a project or needs this needs that... - no rust, - highway/street worthy - light trail use (don't need 35's 4 inches of lift, etc.) - stockish appearance (no straight vertical stack dual exhaust/mercedes front end, etc….) - not scared of mods/"upgrades" (disc brakes, power steering, mild lift, etc.) - can be...
