Hello, I have a 1972 FJ40 that my late husband and I were restoring. She has a 4 new speed manual tranny(originally came with a 3 speed)(may still have), the original straight 6 F motor, Some front end work has been done and the steering box has been gone through. We took the seats out and painted the floor with a rust preventative. I have the back jumper seats and a few other parts. I would like to find her a good home where she would be cared for and enjoyed. We did put Mini cooper bucket seats in, but I would like them to use in the restoration of a 1976 Ford Bronco. I have pictures if anyone is interested in her. She runs and drives. I do need to replace the clutch slave cylinder and possibly the master. She still has disc brakes...

1966 FJ40 in TX
This 1966 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER FJ40 runs great and is in good solid condition. Asking price $9,750. It is for sale by Frank Lawson, Temple TX. CONTACT FRANK LAWSON, Temple TX, 254-760-9312 (calls only, no texts) I'm Frank's brother and am posting this on his behalf as I am the computer guy in the family. The vehicle and the story are Frank's. OWNERSHIP HISTORY Our oldest brother, Warren, purchased this 1966 FJ40 from the original owner in 1974. At that time, Warren was “collecting” land cruisers and this was one of five he owned. The original owner had driven the vehicle about 56,000 miles (this is identified on the title), but something caused the odometer to cease functioning and the odometer is stuck at 16,000 miles. Warren...

69 FJ40 in San Diego-$3500
Zero rot, uncut but has some random holes in the dash. I bought it as a runner with a bad 292 install to work on and get running for my son. I pulled the drive train and was going to put a 4.8 Vortec into it. We went a different direction, and we could be moving soon due to retirement from the Navy in a week. I paid ~$8000 for it and need $3500 out of the rolling chassis. It has stock axles, OME lift with zero miles (shocks and stabilizer still in boxes), 33" Toyo mud tires with zero miles, Jeep JK seats ready to fit to the ORTWTTW seat frame (needs tabs welded). It does NOT have engine, trans, or tcase. Install your engine of choice, some new radiator mount brackets and drive it. I have clean title and current registration in hand...
Hi all -- I have decided to let my '82 go as it will be years before I do anything with it. It's quite rusty, but also very original and complete. It has factory power steering (swapped in later but it's all Toyota except for the front cooler) and an OME suspension system. I have it posted on Craigslist here: 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 I'm asking $3500 or best offer. Given some of the rare parts it has, I am hoping that is a fair price, but I welcome comments/offers.
72' fj40 for your 80 (Baby on the way...)
To start I am absolutely against this, I barely got the wife's approval to take our two kids in my 40, but with another baby on the way the 40 wont get the attention it deserves. I need a nice 80 with under 200k on the clock. Obviously lockers, ARB bumpers, 3rd row seats, and a nice lift/tires would be optimal but not mandatory. I picked up this 40 last year and did a pretty solid refresh, build thread is in the sig. its a 9/71 with a 73 F.5 3 speed tranny and 3 speed TC. crane cams XR700 ignition, brand new trollhole carb, and new stock exhaust all the way back. I put this drive train in about six months ago and it has run great from day one, it does have a slight seep from the rear main as well as a seep from the parking brake...

As much as i hate to do it im putting my 40 up for sale. The wife says one vehicle must go and i habent had luck selling the other 2. I'm located in Gunnison, Colorado. On to the details: Tastestefully modified to enhance driveability. heres a list of what I can remember that has been done to it. I have been a long-time lurker on here. In my family we've had 3x FJ60s, 3x FJ80s, and a GX470 as daily drivers. I have been looking for a FJ40 for 22 years, but finally am in a position to buy one. 3 car garage, a boy to work on it with, some income, and most importantly an agreeable wife. I try to move on them, but due to my job I can't always jump when they pop up on CL or mud. I could easily find one for $20-30k, but I want to have a truck to restore with my boy: finding parts, rebuilding things, factory original restoration process, etc. A frame off candidate without much rust is appealing for those reasons. $8000 to $13000 is my range and appears to be in line with what I want to do with it. The truck will be moving to TX...
I'm in the market for another FJ40 1976 or newer. I want the project to start with my son in the next year. I don't mind a major project, but would prefer something that could be driven while chipping away at projects before dismantling for body work. I'm in S Florida but refuse to even look at anything out of Miami-Dade county. Looking for something in the Southern states of the country and willing to ship if further away. Budget is under $10k but could go higher depending on truck.
