I have decided to buy either a 60 or an 80 some time in August or September. I have been reading quite a bit on this forum about the two becoming familiar with typical maintenance issues associated with ownership. I have worked quite a bit on Jeeps, Isuzu Rodeo and an 85 toy 4X4 truck, so I am comfortable with tools and busted knuckles.
My question is, since there are many cruiser owners on the board from the phoenix area, I would like to offer/ask if I can help out on your next wrenching session. Not only is a second person helpful, but I can begin to become familiar with the rigs and their owners. I have all the hand tools needed, beer if wanted and an air conditioned garage if I needed to host the party or someone wants to wrench at a comfortable 72* regardless of the outside heat.
A large reason I am comfortable buying an older cruiser is the knowledge and camaraderie within these forums and figure since I will eventually be a family member, I might as well get to know ya'll now!
Anyone?

you need to make a swamp cooler ! i made one with a 48" fan in a 52" cube on wheels it blows ! i have to turn it off to weld:hillbilly: anybody know where i could get a binford tool sticker?

Better yet, get one of those Aussie Bonaire coolers from Home Depot and stick it through the wall.:cool: Even on low, mine will keep the garage below 90 even on the hottest days. This time of year, its not uncommon to go below 70 in the evening. It runs on a 1/3 hp motor with a ducted fan, costs next to nothing to run.:bounce::bounce2:

My Prescott shop gets plenty hot. My house stays 80-85 degrees without AC, but my shop gets up to 95.
Oh, and by the way, I have more tools than Tim Taylor! Binford hates me! I recycle power tools regularly. My recycle guy takes my worn-out tools and reduces them to copper, aluminum and steel. Then they go away. I wear out more stuff than most people ever own.
I am on my third table saw in two years. I have two mitre saws, one is just about done. I have several routers. My oldest one is hurting. It will be scrap soon. I run power tools hard and put them away wet. They are just machines, made to do a job until they can't do it anymore. Then I replace them. It's pretty simple!:bounce:
