THANKS to all that have called. I am intending to wench it out Thursday morning. We are traveling in a H1 Hummer. If we are successful and my rig is still there, I will post pics. We are also doing a mini documentary so I will advise when it will be appearing on youtube.

My faith in the a-trac system is still very much intact. Regretfully I used bad judgment in relying on the stock tires to get out of a sandy situation. But the system did exactly what it was suppose to do. The 2 wheels that were on the ground spun, and the 2 wheels that were in the air stayed locked down. The frame was resting firmly on the cliff and I just didn't have enough meat on the tires to pull out.

I can't say enough about the Pinal county Sheriffs department, specifically Deputy Sheriff Pearl. With in 1 hour of the distress call being placed the DPS helicopter was en route from Tucson. An hour after that may family was home safe. Thanks to the DPS pilots as well who were clearly experts at search and rescue.

I am looking for recommendations on tires and have some mildly charred multi purpose tires for sale. Make offer.

After seeing the list of your own vehicles, I'm even more interested to hear/see the details. You have enough capable trucks on hand to have your own recovery party! Good luck.

X2,

Are you taking anybody but the H1? If not you have a potential repeat on your hands.

Good deal, tried calling, but got no answer. I could cruise out there this afternoon, no winch, but plenty of straps, etc!

Where exactly is battle axe?

Not sure that I'd wait till thursday to get back out there. If it needs to happen. I can get the 40 out there with winch. Between that and Kevin's truck we could get ya out either tonight or tomorrow sometime. Post up or shoot me a PM and we can talk.

I'd be happy to get myself to Kevin's and ride along if it happens tonight.

East of the Coke Ovens travelling northeastward toward Kearney. The east loop is severely washed out.
Ok, gotcha, been to the ovens, but didn't go in further.

About the list of cars. I now only own the FJC. The others have sold or wrecked or sold a little wrecked.

Still no calls back guys....let us know when you get back. Offer still stands for extra help if need be.

It's a long drive out there, then a recovery. I don't expect to hear from anyone until at least 10PM, and wouldn't be suprised if they don't return until the wee hours of tomorrow. :D

Everyone's home safe. Just got in and took a needed shower. We met atBasha's at 4:30 and headed down to the Florence Kelvin Hiway. Went in the back way from Cochran and crossed at the ford there. The FJC was about 60 feet up the trail from the ford, pretty much exactly where I figured it would be. It was a really good stuck. One of the better ones I've ever seen. Richard drove the passenger front into a BAD washout and teetered the rig on the edge of oblivion. Another 12" forward and the rig would've been on it's nose or much worse. Bill pulled his 40 across the river and up in behind the FJC where we hooked up the winch and pulled it out without incident. We then forded the FJC then 40 back across the river and made the long drive home. A relatively uneventfull recovery of a very stuck rig. Kevin got some pics of the whole deal. They should be very interesting.

I think I sold Richard on the whole Cruiser Karma thing tonight. Hope to see him at the next meet!

We are back, one FJC recovered and drove home!:D Got a couple of pix, but the cable is at the shop, so will have to wait till the morning.

Over the River and out of the woods...

We are back safe and sound. Its amazing that a group of people who dont know me from Adam would drop everything to help a stranger. It renews my faith in people. I am grateful for the help and humbled by their knowledge and skills. Thanks for everything and to everyone. I look forward to meeting everyone else at the next meeting.

And as it turns out, it might not have been a tire issue. It is possible that user error was to blame.

Thanks Again

Richard

Flow rate on the Gila at Kelvin Is LOW ...

The flow rate was low, but BMAN nads deep! Or FJC headlights under water deep.:D
